I adore that show!  James Spader is one of my favorite twisted character actors.  On tonights show his character Alan takes a somewhat dom'ish turn on a female lawyer in the firm.  The way he says..
"take off your pants.  let me see your panties."  And you can see the way she responds.. it was GREAT!
He makes me wet.

OMG!  This is too funny. I had never watched that show before tonight, but I was talking to my mother today who loves it, and she was telling me that this was the season opener --a two parter--continued on Tues night---And she was telling me what a great show it was.  So I figured I'd give it a watch.  Hell, I have always thought James Spader was one of the hottest men on earth...He was much better looking in his younger days (Sex Lies and videotape, if you remember that movie) He played a sadist/dominant, exhibitionist type of character in that movie.  It has to be close to 20 yrs old.  He's gotten alittle heavy in the face now,  and I dont care for his hairstyle...but fuck the hell out of me if he still isnt the hottest freakiest thing walking the earth.  I love that quirkey freaky thing he has going on and I KNOW that he has got to be a pervert in real life as well. No one could play it so well, unless it was in him.  The way he tugged at her pants and told her to take them off. I almost fell off my sofa.   I plan to watch part 2 on Tuesday!

Just finished watching it now... :) Alan is hot and his technique is working.
There is something about Spader that makes me want to get down on my knees and give a deep passionate greeting to his body.

OH yeah baby!   He is older, and not the prime specimen he was in his youth.  But he has something!  His demeanor makes any imperfection fall to the gutter at his feet.

I saw it ....I think they are giving a backhanded nod to his role in "The Secretary"  which was a great movie...he was totally Dom.  I've been in love with that guy since the 80's...lol

No, the show ruins the ethics, morals, standards, principals, and example of Capt Kirk.

i doooooo love L&A - pretty much any version.

Never watched CSI
Grey's Anatomy
House
Boston Legal
er.. Scrubs?

or any OTHER new fangled show

I'm a recent BL convert.

There's always the quote from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer pilot episode (1996) where Cordelia is giving Buffy a quiz to test her coolness factor:

Cordelia:  James Spader?
Buffy:  He NEEDS to call me!

I love the show; had guests for dinner last night so missed it!  BUT...I taped it so I can catch up tonight!  heh heh heh  (and I never tape TV shows)

Still... somehow I don't think it falls into the sit-com catagory all that well; it seems more to me like drama.  Okay, it IS quite funny and very often, too...but it still doesn't feel like a sit-com to meeee; it's far deeper, for the most part.

First I remember Spayder was in Secretary; but I think BL shows off his talents much better.  Hell, I LOVE Shatner in the show too; he's a hoot!  Together, I think they're really great.

Yes, sitcoms are situation comedies.  Boston Legal started out as just a spin-off drama show but has become more of a serialized drama, which also has a fabulous wit and humor to it.
