If you could go back in time and change one thing that you did in your life...what would that be and why? Personally, I would have went to college and got myself a good education to support myself instead of partying and carrying on.....

Nothing.  Why?  Because every single thing I've ever lived through, decided upon, suffered for, enjoyed, or otherwise experienced, has all been to bring me to the place I am today...to shape me into who I am today...and I kinda dig that little chick.

I would change nothing.  Even though I wish some things had worked out differently, everything has moulded Me into the woman I am today.  And I really like Me!   And if I changed a single thing, I wouldn't have My children  or My precious new grandson.  Nuff said!

I wish I never took up golf as a hobby.

Thank you, JerseyKrissi!  He's a month old and the apple of My eye.

I would go back in time and kill the bloke that wrote ‘Back to the future’ to see if it caused a paradoxical universe in which back to the future didn’t exist. I suspect this event may cause a ‘Forward to the past’ film but this is merely speculation on my part and as yet impossible to prove.

LW3 -> RE: If You Could... (11/28/2006 12:46:26 PM)

Nothing. I like how my life is.
Of course not all things in my past are good but without the bad things I won't enjoy the good ones.
In everybody there are good and bad past experiences. we enjoy the good because we know the bad.

knowing that why you want to change your past?
(what I would love to do is travel to the future and when I come back to present I will be able to be millionaire [:D] but changing my past? no thanks)

tade -> RE: If You Could... (11/28/2006 1:21:08 PM)

I would change my picks for the Kentucky Derby, Superbowl and the 250 million lotto.

RubberWitch -> RE: If You Could... (11/28/2006 1:33:50 PM)

A Lotto win would be nice, but, I have deduced that sending 3 numbers back in time costs significantly more than a Lotto win. Otherwise I'd have them, invest my meagre savings and win big, invest in time travel, and send a message back to myself, giving me 3 lotto numbers, which I could then...

cuddleheart50 -> RE: If You Could... (11/28/2006 1:55:47 PM)

I would have gotten a better education.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: If You Could... (11/28/2006 2:04:19 PM)

Probably nothing.  I feel that each situation was presented to Me as a learning experience on My path and I handled it the best way I could at the time.  I think it all unfolded the way it was supposed to.

When my mom was laying in the hospital bed dying of cancer I would have hugged her and told her how much I loved her when she told me she was going to die instead of getting angry and feeling like she was giving up because she did not love me enough to keep living. It is funny how a child views something and then you grow up and realize that she lived through the worst possible pain and degradation for five years all because she wanted to keep living to be there for me. Even in the end she was sacrificing to prepare me for what would happen. I would go back and spend so much more time with her and ask her so many things because I have missed her every single day of my life since she died.

sweetnygirl -> RE: If You Could... (11/30/2006 6:20:05 PM)

I would have taken a month off of work and spent it with my dad before he died of a brain tumor. It's been 11 and a half years and I still think of things I want to tell him and show him. Changing anything else would change who I am and how my life made me, but I don't think staying with my dad would have changed things too much.

If I only knew that my Master didn't have much time left to live I would have devoted EVERY minute to him....that is why I don't take life for granted now....because I now realize how short it can be...every day ..tell those you love "I LOVE YOU" because you may never get the chance again...

I also would probably have gone to college at 18. inspite of the cost ... I didnt go because my parents would have had to struggle (they said they'd come up with a way), I am the eldest of 4, a younger brother was more gifted than me and I didnt really have an overwhelming ambition.
But as things turned out (you know the saying about hindsight); That brother didnt finish even one term of Community college.
Well I started to go back at the age 43 part- time and inspite of many bumps in the road finally finished at the age of 52.

That would have been one thing, but like others have said, it would have changed many other things, no children etc.

So ... inspite of the difficulty of trying to get a job at my age in a depressed market ...

life is way more than ok just the way it is.

Thanks for this thread, it has helped me put things in perspective.
