HELP!!  i designed my collar as Master told me to do, then i got the heart-shaped lock from Radiance Bound, just the right size & weight & i made the collar, He locked it on me & i love it!!  unfortunately, it's made of some type of metal that gives me a terrible rash...so now i am on a quest for one made from Sterling Silver...i would love to have one made of gold, but think that would be too costly right now...does anybody know where i can find such an animal?  or, better yet, a place where i could get it custom made, as the one i have in my head is different from all the ones i've seen so far...thanks in advance for Y/your help...

puretnt.com has a sterling silver chain and heart lock combo. That is about all that I can recall.

until you find one... you can try coating it with clear nail polish
I had to do that on several necklaces when I was a kid

thank you, shadevarr for that suggestion...i went there & saw one very similar to what i have now, that may be made of sterling
thank You, also, MstrJohnJ...i have done that but the metal is such that contact with my skin tarnished it something awful, so now it's fairly ugly...but it will stop the rash at least...

If collar is of metal, pehaps it can be plated with silver, brass, or one of the newer teflon type coatings such a MP3
check google for metal finishing or plating.

i had the same exact problem and sadly cannot wear my collar anymore because of the pain it causes. Very sad really. i have a condition known as eczema and it limits many things i cannot wear.  At first we(Sir and i) thought that the chrome collar we purchased and the lock we had purchased with it(we were told it was chrome also by the merchant, but after researching, i discovered it was nikel plated, which i had told the merchant, my skin reacts badly too) but i of course got a reaction to the nikel-plated lock and then after some time, the chrome collar tore the back of neck apart. My neck is of different skin tones now and so i have a great disliking for wearing my hair up. i also had plans of cutting my hair but can no longer do that, for fear of leaving that area exposed to everyone.

Sir and i have been searching for a while now but unfortunetly have found nothing but Sir is now thinking of getting the steel cuffs from eternity collars or the steel anklets. i wish you the best of luck in your search.

Have you talked to a local jewler?

I know i saw a heart shaped lock in silver on ebay once, that might be another place to look.

You might be able to get the lock you have silver plated or gold electroplated.

Been mentioned already I see, my suggestion was jeweller also, I would think even a craft store would have heart shaped locks?

Craft store sounds too low-end, but some kind of store that would sell ornamental crafts, maybe an engraving shop as well?

Best luck, hope you find what you're looking for!

5th item down on this page:
http://www.saroftreve.com/hardware/cat-wm.htm

This lock isn't sterling silver, but I bought it and am very pleased with it... it's plated in nickel which is shiny and matches sterling well, and the man who runs the site assures me that this would be safe for long-term wear, even in the shower.  And at less than $4 apiece, you can afford to replace it if it eventually starts to wear out.

tiffany's sells a gold or silver chain with actual screw down (allen) lock. absolute quality. I have allergies as well, and just had a gold chain and gold decorative heart shaped lock with 2  jump rings soldered on, then chain was attatched with small gold jump rings that were like a tiny key ring. (needed to be removed occasionally, even though gold)
good luck!
