tml721 -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/22/2006 12:42:18 PM)

I'm still learning what to say in a letter when I trey to interest a sub.

wandersalone -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/22/2006 7:54:06 PM)

No problems.  It can be difficult to know what to write in an email to someone, the best advice is to keep things simple, talk a little about yourself and your interests outside of bdsm and what interested you about the person you are writing to. If you are going to send them a photo of yourself make sure it is a vanilla one initially.  Also use spell-check or ask a friend to read it over for any spelling mistakes/typos.

all the best

tml721 -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/22/2006 8:31:04 PM)

Thanks for the advise. Most of that I do.I don't ask much about anything out side BDSM. I'll start asking more about personal intersts.

Uyraell -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 1:42:27 AM)

Hello and welcome, I'm sure you'll find it an interesting site,  I certainly have, and enjoy reading the boards I subscribe and post to.
Blessed Be,                                                                                             ^Uyraell^

Raye -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 2:15:14 AM)

Welcome and happy hunting.

tml721 -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 3:55:09 AM)

I'm a bit of an impatient person so I'm getting a bit fustrated at this point, but i'm not giving up. Thanks for your comment. I hope you find what you're looking for as well.

tml721 -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 3:57:52 AM)

Thanks. I hope my profile is good enough and I say the right things in my letters. I'm not getting any replies so I'm wondering why I'm not even getting rejection letters.

Uyraell -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 4:00:02 AM)

Many Thanks, Raye, I'm sure it will be an interesting experience.
I have to say though, it woll be friendships, in the main, here,  I'm not looking to add to those I Hold already, and frankly, the thought was to find a local subb who'd like to meet now and again.
Whichever the way of it, I'm sure I'll enjoy this site, the folk here are thinkers, which many in mirc chat are not.
Blessed Be,                                             ^Uyraell^

Uyraell -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 4:07:32 AM)

Greetings, tml721,  and Thank You , friend [;)].  In truth I was invited and have started meeting folks, both "older" members and new.  The original idea was to use the site to find a local subb lass who'd like to play on a reasonably regular basis.   If I make new friends and learn more of the two Lifestyles that interest me then that is all to the good as well.
Blessed Be,                                                             ^Uyraell^

Uyraell -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 4:51:33 AM)

A quick, general thought in re: profiles ..... it also helps to list a wide range of interests,  though I'm sure you have.  I did so on one site a while ago, and got hit with 20-odd replies in less than 3 days, so I know a good profile is helpful.   As to that site, I killed the profile and quit the site, came to the conclusion it was not going to further any visitor's interests when I am talking to a friend in Germany who sees the same picture of the same girl I do, but the site tells him she's in his city in Germany, while telling me it's in my city in NZ.!! Hence leaving the site.
Blessed Be ,                                                                                             ^Uyraell^

tml721 -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 4:55:37 AM)

Yes I know what you mean. I've already found a few fakes on this site.I was hoping my fetish list with its likes and dislikes would be enough. Its just like a resume and I HATE RESUMES!!!! If you don't say them perfectly you screw yourself and its not good for anyone!!!

Uyraell -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 5:07:29 AM)

Exactly so !  yecccchhhh, much no-likey ! That's why I filled my profile  in the way I did, but since the lass I'm seeking is likely to be difficult to find, I'm quite relaxed about it : statistically the odds are pretty narrow, and I knew that to begin-with, but all to the good, at least I get to meet new folk and make a few more BDSM and Gorean Friends.
Blessed Be,                                                                     ^Uyraell^

tml721 -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 5:51:51 AM)

GEEZ I just viewed your profile, If you were a woman I'd be hitting on you. I love your Vanilla interests!!lol

Uyraell -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 6:11:37 AM)

Many Thanks, Friend tml721,  I do put a bit of effort in to a profile, though to be fair about it, I am very widely read, and had a somewhat extensive range of interests from childhood.  I read Homer at 10, Louis Leakey at 12, and Heigel at 13,  followed by Jacob Brownowski at 14.  Philosophy and Anthropology were interests, along with Egyptology, and Archaeology.   The Space Programme was studied when the other things were not.    Sport was not a high priority, however : never did see the sense in a lot of it, which "sin" makes me a far-from-typical Kiwi Male, lol.
Again, Thank You, My Friend,
Blessed Be,                                                            ^Uyraell^

tml721 -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 7:56:05 AM)

I love sports as much as I love learning. I was a late bloomer on everything in life.I'm trying to catch up as quick as I can. There seems to be a lot of facets to BDSM I never dreamed of. The gorean part is something I'd never heard of but it sounds interesting.
The poly part is something else I've considered.

Xeath -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 8:45:28 AM)

tml,

I did read through your introduction thread and I can only say it takes time, patience, perserverance, and honesty. We must always remember that we are not here to simply make an instant match as others have said. Instead were are here tomake friends and if something blossoms out of that then wonderful. However being impatient and expecting a rejection letter will kill you fast in a community like this. I did read your profile and it did seem interesting, but remember if something is to good to be true then it must be.

tml721 -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 8:51:19 AM)

too good to be true!!???? where did I go wrong on that!!!????? I just revamped it. I don't know if you can read it yet. If you can let me know what you think of the revamp.

Xeath -> RE: new to this bare with me (12/23/2006 8:57:18 AM)

I most certainly will and please remember. Some people have had bad experiences in the past and are skittish. Especially when meeting people online as what they read/see is not always what they get. My sub knows this first hand and will never trust people the same again.
