Two guesses:

-- Is Pirates of the Caribbean the only one that wasn't a book before becoming a movie?

-- Is DaVinci Code the only one aimed at adults?

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:27:33 PM)

The first one is right.

Post the next quartet

dcnovice -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:29:51 PM)

Queen Elizabeth I
Queen Elizabeth II
Queen Mary
Queen Victoria

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:34:28 PM)

Queen Elizabeth II?  The others were queen of Britian and Ireland?

dcnovice -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:35:38 PM)

No. They're all British.

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:40:08 PM)

I think you should give me a hint.....

dcnovice -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:40:40 PM)

Realized on reflection that that quartet didn't quite work, so here's another stab at it:

Edward VII
George V
Edward VIII
George VI

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:45:36 PM)

Edward VII.  The others were part of the house of Windsor?

dcnovice -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:48:06 PM)

I hadn't thought of that, but that answer works.

Edward VIII was the one I had in mind. He was the only one who abdicated, who was never crowned, and who had no queen.

Your turn. i'm off to bed.

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:52:24 PM)

Whippet
Scottish Deerhound
Beagle
Bichon Frise

dcnovice -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:52:25 PM)

In case anyone's dying of curiosity, the answer to my queens quartet was Queen Mary (the 20th-century one). She was the wife of a king (George V), while the others ruled in their own right.

The reason I withdrew the quartet was that I remembered belatedly that there was an earlier Mary who co-ruled with William.

Probably more than you wanted to know.

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 10:55:41 PM)

Actually, i had wanted to know the answer to that one.

I never would have gotten that far. Thanks for letting me know.

BTW, have a good night....

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: odd one out? (2/20/2007 11:33:43 PM)

The Bichon Frise is the only dog that isn't a hound.

Says the owner of a lovely whippet bitch

CalliopePurple -> RE: odd one out? (2/21/2007 12:13:17 AM)

Just adding that yes, littleone was right earlier. I didn't get time to pop in and confirm that! SDFem inspired me with her earlier CLAMP thought.

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/21/2007 9:07:30 AM)

Google is a wonderful tool, let me tell you.

SD was right. Next quartet.

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: odd one out? (2/21/2007 12:59:09 PM)

angiography
MRI
CAT
PET

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/21/2007 5:39:02 PM)

I think it's either CAT, which is another name for Caterpiller Inc. Meaning CAT is the only one that doesn't have to do with medical testing things.

Or MRI which is the only one not used by medical doctors.

oh, hell, i have no idea.

Whippet

Bichon Frise

The first 3 are hunting dogs and a Bichon Frises is one of those silly toy royalty lap dog thingies?

The last three use radiation, the first uses wires inserted in the veins of the patient.

litleone8620 -> RE: odd one out? (2/21/2007 5:44:06 PM)

You're a bit behind, Sinergy. The next quartet was:

Angiography
MRI
CAT
PET
