I could never really get into it but my friends use to sit and play it...start at about 6pm and not finished until about 3 am lol...I would usually end up asleep on the couch...

Somehow, I always end up as the Dungeon Master.  Innate affinity for the role, I guess.

(nerd, you are not alone here)

I played it with all the funky dice and stuff in school.  It always used to take like 45 minutes just to sort out a battle with a band of hobgoblins.  Before long, girls got more interesting and the D&D club faded into oblivion.

I used to play it up until they came out with 2nd Edition.  Lost my taste for the game (and those who I found playing it) around that time as I had been in the military for a bit by then and the other army gamers were almost, to a man, minmaxers all.

That never worked for us.  We had varsity cheerleaders in our gaming group.  The D&D club didn't fade until the younger members left school.

Ok guess i'm still a major nerd. I still play D&D but we usually use second edition. We also play VtM and afew others. Great my unmentionables are in their twenties as they use the house for gaming.

A funny thing happened afew years ago. My youngest was playing and got pissed about the way the game was going so he chewed off a toenail and sliced his throat with it so he could get out of playing that round anymore. Now hes abit better about taking his life ingame.=P

I use to play it when I was in highschool, but I don't play it any more. I'm more into MMORGs now.
