Hello, I saw this site and browsed on and off for couple of weeks now. Few days ago, I decided to register and started sending few emails to some of subs. Got replies and it went off this sites but by second email I could detect it was a fake based on picture and way they are trying to get ahead of ourselves so I dismissed them. Also, some of subs are searching for Dom on few Yahoo groups and posted their pic in the folder and the pic just doesn't match! So I am wondering how many of you have came cross many fakes and wannabe? I can understand being discreet but being lied to or using others' pic is a turn-off and is in no way to earn my trust or building a relationship online. About me, I am an inexperienced dom so I am looking for experience or inexperienced subs who can be patient and learn the lifestyle at right pace. I can not readily discern whether this is a personal ad or a whine and bitch story, or both...??? I have run across the odd fake. The thing is, though, that I am not stupid. I track them down using the powers of the internet, expose them and then I never hear from them again. I do not really mind too much. It gives Me something to do when I am bored.

Just out of curiosity, do you think us knowing your knowledge and experience level will help us phrase our answers? I hope you do not make assumptions this quickly in your business. I will hazard a guess that the fact that you list you are a landowner of considerable acreage, own three businesses, looking for a social butterfly, and even offering to provide them a vehicle after a short amount of time may facilitate the attention of opportunists, but that is only my opinion, I could be wrong. edited for damn typo

If you're wondering WTF we're talking about, go to http://www.ebolamonkeyman.com for the explanation. Baiting Nigerian scammers is funny stuff. And yes, there are Nigerian scammers on this site. They talk pretty much like the examples above. Much fun can be had with them if you are sufficiently sadistic and have the time to waste.

To the OP: i am not sure if you are saying the profile pictures are fake, or if you have mistaken an avatar (picture used here on the boards) as a picture of the actual person posting. Avatars can be photos of the person posting (i refuse to call them the "poster" hehehe), such as mine, or they can be a photo or picture of someone/somthing else, but used to identify the person posting on te boards. If it was a picture on the profile that mislead you, no one should be using pictures that are not of them, but stuff happens. For the most part, i have found people to be pretty honest with their pictures, so don't let the fakes ruin your experience. Welcome to the boards, by the way~* Master's dorei

yeah there are fakes here.....after a while here, you hone your spidy sences...pay attention to things like sob stories, imediate familiarity and intimacy, and remember if it walks like a duck..... also you may not know this but it is considered poor form to use a forum post to personally advertise..besides it is unessasary.....when you are a newbie and post for the first time, believe me every one checks out the new blood.[;)] welcome to the boards....

Ok, I get it.. Thank for the pointers.. Sent out 8 emails and got 5.. 2 of them still corresponding.. other three was not anything like Nigeria scam, which my friend's sister have fallen into victim for. Mainly the pic just doesn't match in profile and on yahoo group (they didnt know I am also member of). Appreciate your constructive critism.. always the best way to learn by getting feedback and try to improve.. Again, many thanks!

You're welcome, and I know at times to someone new it must seem we are jaded. If you give them the information on your profile you have things of value you seem to be easily parted from, you will attract some bad folks. I'm glad you are corresponding still with some, and hope you find what you seek.

I think that most users of sites such as this, understand, that just as in all of society a certain number or percentage of people are not genuine in the words or descriptive responses they use. Just as I don't necessarily trust the people that knock on my door selling services, I neither trust those here until a level of communication and trust is established. We must all be responsible for our own actions and wary of those that prey on our emotions and trust. This is not a situation where, hey, everyone here is a good person therefore I can trust them. In my situation, I have been searching for many years, over 10, I've met some nice people but haven't made any connection, nor allowed myself to be in any situation where I might regret.

Nice advertisement for yourself. Next time stick that stuff in a profile. As for the fakes, they're out there -- whether here on an SM site, or at yahoo or match or wherever. You figured out their game? Great. Block them and move on. They've wasted enough of your time....so why give them any more airtime here?
