proudsub -> help with chat rooms (5/4/2004 2:26:36 PM)
I have not been able to open a chat room here for about two months. I installed the version of java recommended on the chat page for XP, even though i have windows98, and that didn't help either. I always try to keep the latest version of java because i need it for my game site. When i try to go to a chat room it looks like it is starting to load then it freezes. Any suggestions?

Install mIRC or another irc client and access it that way. It's vastly superior to the website java.
Type /server www.collarme.com port 6667 to connect to the server. Type /list to get a list of active channels, then /join #channelname to join the chat.
You don't have to put up with the annoying emoticons, etc when you do it this way either.
Hope that helps. :)

Thank you Sherri. I tried mIRC for a cam site and never got it to work right but maybe its time to try again.

not a suggestion but a plea ( yes iwill an actual plea from a Dom [:D] )
I have been having the same problem as proudsub, but chalked it up to the fact that I am using a Mac and that java/shockwave-x-flash just doesnt really like Mac products - although I must say my normal netscape java and javascript work fine - any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated
