A little more positive spin on the "fashions that need to die" thread:

http://www.collarchat.com/m_710268/tm.htm

Which fashions would you love to see come back?

I do need to get out more.  I saw a pair in a catalogue and reminisced.

(old geezer mode now)  They buy them ready made these days!  By gummy, when I was a young un" my momma taught me how to embroider and I did my OWN decorations on my jeans..until my fingers BLED.  I did the best daisy vines in the county.(snort)  I was a maniac with the Ronco Rhinstone and Stud setter also.

I agree.. but only if the figure appropriate people wear them. Man, the last round caused emotional truma and blindness...

I know a lot of people that say this, but I always wonder which comes first, the cloths style or the body figure? How many woman do you know that say that they need to tone down/loss weight in order to fit into something? Maybe more men would care about the way they looked if their cloths would show off a little more too.

i always loved the look of hose with the seam up the back of the leg, it's so hot... when i lived in san francisco, i dated a girl who had the "seam" tattooed to her legs permanently and i absolutely loved walking behind her and enjoying the view... it didn't hurt that she had a full round ass and a perfect rubenesque figure

Levis has been pushing the "skinny" straight leg jeans for awhile now.  Generally geared towards the breathairian herion-chic emo jackasses though.

I never thought of that! I only wear seamed thigh highs and they aren't easy to find. I always order them by the dozens online. But even harder to find are the seamed with cuban heels (a little diamond of color at the heel) that were popular back in the 40's. I so loved the clothes from that time period suits for women were feminine and I wish men would go back to wearing hats, real hats, like fedoras. I think LaTigresse said clothes from the 20's 30's and 40's and I couldn't agree more.

So Cal is so damn casual it drives me nuts sometimes and I constantly seem to be overdressed. Growing up we dressed for holidays and sunday dinners. Half the people at my Thanksgiving dinner showed up in shorts and flip flops even though I specifically said we would be dressing for dinner. One guest (in all seriousness) said he had bought new flip flops for the ocassion. Sigh.

I must agree on the seamed stockings.  I dont wear them, but I love seeing my pets in them.
The only fashion item that I miss are the blue jeans that were part spandex, from back when I was younger.  When someone had the legs for it, those looked INCREDIBLE. Especally with a nice high boot overtop of them. *purr*

But I digress... I miss those jeans
