Can somebody PLEASE explain this to me? What is going on with worshipping a Domme with tributes?

I see so many profiles by Dommes saying that they are to be worshipped with tributes and yet I have NEVER seen a Dom requesting the same. I'm not in the slightest bit sexist but is this solely a Domme thing?

I just have this strange feeling that if I demanded subs and slaves to worship me with tributes, I'd get laughed right out of the lifestyle!  lol

What are your views please?

How would you react if you read a submissive or slaves profile that demanded Masters, Mistresses, Dom/mes to worship them with tribute for their service?
 
That being said is it really based on sex, status, or simply opportunity?

There are a few on the other side that do.  There are not many males, but there are a few.

Ok, I'll try a different line of enquiry then. Is it just greedy, opportunistic and out of BDSM character to say 'Tell me how much you worship me by buying me and giving me nice things'?

OR

Is it acceptable to make subs worship you by giving material gifts as opposed to pyschological?

Personally, I think its bang out of order.

I took this statement as you implying that only women can/do ask for tribute. However, the point of my orgininal post was to that if it where based on gender, than women who identify as submissives or slaves would also be asking/demanding tribute for their services.
 
 
So my question to you is it truly based on gender?

This is exactly my point.

I said that I have only ever seen Dommes doing this and not Doms. I am now led to believe that some Doms do it but nowhere near as many as Dommes that request tributes.

Why do you think that this is?

Pierced most it is worshipping the Goddess, the Whore, she who must be obeyed, the Vamp, the Princess ... whatever ... some men like the exquisite nature of loving a beast they think they are not worthy of loving ...literature is littered with poets and writers lamenting the beauty of women they have loved and the measures they have gone to in the hope the object of their affection will deign to notice them ... the pleasure and the pain in loving her thus ... even the word we know today as 'masochist' got it's origin from the ultimate historical masochist, Leopold von Sacher-Masoch and his tortured story of Wanda and Serverin.   But I fear the subtlies of this is lost on a lot of 'dommes' who demand 'tribute'.  With a lot claiming it is to weed out time wasters and horny net geeks and others doing it because it became an 'online' thing to do and others doing it because it appeared like an easy way to make a buck demanding tribute from random men via a 'financial domination' internet site and their want to be a pay piggy or worm wallet for a demanding task master and others do it because they have decided it is something they wish to do and if a potential sub does not like it they are welcome to move along. 
 
I'm of the latter persuasion and often take things further, demanding of one or two subs I know that they do this or that for me, with exsquisite results.  It is the dynamic we have and it works for us.  It is what they want, it is what they know I am capable of, it is why they seeked me out rather than someone else, that I will have no qualms about demanding of them things that other women won't.
 
Keep in mind too submission and domination isn't a one size fit all combination, with plenty of people wanting inequality in their relationship.  They want to be the inferior, it is what makes them tick.  That does not mean to say they don't see themselves as valuable, just as a Gorean kajira her views on that.  A natural order of things which requires them to know their place.

The gender stereotypes that we have in our world today still perpetuates the idea that the man should give direct financial support to the female.  There are many female submissives who will not be with a male dominant who does not pay for them and their time together, though it is usually through food, travel and other expenses.

As well, male doms tend to prefer expressions of devotion in other ways.  Instead of ordering the sub to give them money or gifts, they will order the sub to dress a certain way and expect sex afterwards.  It's still having expectations of the other person- it's just one is less obviously monetarily related.

Adding:

Tribute to me is something I view as to Christians who tithe, or make animal sacrifices.  It's saying "I am grateful for your presence and affect upon my life, and I sacrifice this part of my life as an expression of that."

LA I like that.  Have wondered a lot recently about the worship of a person and worship of an icon and if the returns a devotee gets from religious devotion is similar to Goddess or Femme worship.  I get a lot of comment on my profile, from people who appreciate that like a religion, a Goddess (or God/Lord) is there to inspire and guide a devotee to fullfill their lives and be the very best they can be.

It is rooted from a gender stereotype that has been taken from the vanilla world that it is the male's job to support the female. And I personally think, depending on the situation, that it degrades and weakens this lifestyle in a way.

Many pro dommes have made this lifestyle their business. And they have no feelings for the subs they dominate outside the artificial world that they created. How many pro dommes would continue what they do if money was taken out of the equation? Many I think would still do it because they are truely dominant women. But I have a good feeling that the majority would give it up because they are fake. They are putting on an act to cater to the male fantasy in order to get money and support from the male. That's not bdsm. That's acting.

Now there may be exceptions, such as the religious type idea given by one of the other posters. That a male sub makes a financial sacrifice to what he believes is a superior being. But consider this also, if you were to go to church, they pass around this basket where everyone is supposed to give tribute (money) to the church. Now if you don't put anything in there, you are going to get some odd and angry looks. But the priest also doesn't come up to you say, "You need to give $300 or you can never come in here again." To some people, giving $20 is a sacrifice and now can't eat for a few days. To others, $1,000 is a drop in the bucket. This is why you can't assign a monetary value to a tribute.

Dommes that say they need to be spoiled or financially supported is a red flag that they are probably fake. And most of those women have no clue what BDSM really is.

What's more prevalent in society, men or women using their sex/bodies to sell stuff, especially to men? Sex sells and a lot of people see the kink community as a great adult industry opportunity (and it is). The Bitch Goddess/lowly worm is one of the most popular scenarios. So, combine all this and you get the vast majority of the tribute worship. Not all, mind you, but most.

I don't...and I wear men's underwear. In fact, other than them being boxer briefs, I can't remember what brand they are at all. But then, I don't ask for tribute either!
