Companionship Advice for the ladies ... decades too late!

If you want someone who will bring you the paper without first tearing it apart to remove the sports section.
Buy a dog.

If you want someone willing to make a fool of himself simply over the joy of seeing you.
Buy a dog.

If you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and never says its not quite as good as his mother made it.
Buy a dog

If you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long and wherever you want.
Buy a dog.

If you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic movies.
Buy a dog.

If you want someone who is content to get up on your bed just to warm your feet and whom you can push off if he snores.
Buy a dog.

If you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves you unconditionally, perpetually.
Buy a dog.

But, on the other hand, If you want someone who will never come when you call, ignores you totally when you come home, leaves hair all over the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is solely to ensure his happiness

Then .................

Buy a cat!

(You thought I was talking about a man didn't you?)

Heh. My CAT plays fetch...and runs to greet me at the door every time I come home. The other one nuzzles me lots and pretty much eats any tidbit I offer him including green beans, popcorn, pizza sauce, cheese, ice cream and creamy peanut butter (ok, so he spit out all the peanut pieces when I gave him crunchy). I know kids who are more picky.

I had a cat who brought her 3-day old kittens into the living room so she could sit with me AND them while I was sick. I had another who wouldn't let me out of his sight anytime I was mourning something like another pet's death or the end of a relationship. And another refused to be put in the carrier for the trip to the vet, but would ride calmly on my shoulder for the visit. He also would climb the ladder to check on the progress of re-roofing the house.

Like a dog, neither one cares if I have on make-up or if I smell bad...or if I smell good. Pets are, most times, a good example of unconditional love. I like some dogs...but I like almost all cats.

I adore my furry babies, even the snotty cat that thinks he is one of the dogs and way too fearless around the great big furry babies.(horses)

I'll take a cat over a dog any day. Dogs are way too codependant.

With all the co-dependant creatures at the farm two big hairy dogs don't make much difference.
