i think when times get tough many people cant see outside of their own emotional limitations to the logical side of things.  Generally, many people cant see outside of their own perspectives to have a broader sense.  I'm sure they post all the negatives because they arent having a problem dealing with the "positives"   How many times do you see some one post "My Master is being absolutely wonderful to me and everything is going great - what do i do?"  (ok i saw it ONCE.. but the point...)  No one needs help sorting through the "good shit" (generally speaking)  And to go to friends or family - is to open up your relationship to those who have a direct association with it.  It changes things.  So for some coming to a forum where everyone is virtually a stranger its a good way to work through their problems in a way that will not impact their lives in a negative way.  Which is why i would think some one would come here.  To figure out a way to deal and handle a situation that they cant seem to see emotionally past.  To get an outside perspective on ways to logically resolve a situation.  Generally i think the "run leave them" is kind of a cope out of an answer because if some one wanted to "run and leave" why post here in the first place?  Its a pretty simple answer.  Unless of course for those who dont know if they should.... but then i would think they would ask if they should.

Angelic - i dont think people want to parade dysfunctional relationships.  See post above.  Unless of course they have something majorly wrong with themselves.  Who in their right mind wants to look like an idiot for doing something?  For example - if every time i road a bike i fell and cracked my head open because i wasnt wearing a helmet, why would i come and say "hey i'm an idiot and i refuse to ride with a helmet on so i keep cracking myhead open"  When one is IN a dysfunctional relationship it does not show good light upon them.  Why would anyone want to show themselves in a bad light?  It illogical.

I also like what owned said.  And i'd like to second it and agree with it.

What i dont get on the boards is why everyone personalizes and internalizes other peoples struggles?  Aye and then they get all upset and say the OP is causing drama.  I think if people would stop personalizing other peoples lives there would be no drama here.

Have you never heard that love hurts?  LOL  Havent you heard the song by Offspring "the more you suffer, the more it shows you really care?"  LOL

Sometimes love isnt a bed of roses.  Sometimes that human fallible trait to fuck up happens and sometimes it happens alot.  When it comes down to the stopping point, its generally when one person decides its not worth it anymore.  That the person is not worth it anymore

Really when it comes down to any problem in a relationship it all has to do with "is this person worth it to work through the problem"

Which is why you have so many issues with other people and their relationships.

Erin!
You always do come up with such good topics.
On a very personal level, I was once a victim of one of those types of threads.  Not only was the original post so vague as to be useless, but a brief clarification was an out and out misrepresentation.  (I am being so polite here and not saying it was a lie!  *Smile*)
Although no names were named, it could have been obvious to those in the know to whom this submissive was referring.  Therefore, it was unecessarily hurtful, and, I think, a ploy to get some specific attention.
I seldom get involved in these types of threads, as I agree with Scooter.  Often the poster only offers up their perception of the negatives and order to garner support for a decision to leave the relationship or get some tea and sympathy for a situation that is, all too often, untrue. If  I am not personally involved as a friend and do not have specific knowledge of the whole picture, it is difficult to give reasonable guidance.
Example:  I often see advice of "Run!"..."get out!"   "Be careful", and yet, in My instance, there was nothing to "get out" of.  So I could only conclude that the thread was nothing more than a means to stir up some *shit*.  And I think that is the sad case in most instances.
It is way too easy to jump to conclusions.
