ORIGINAL: Domhsv Believe me, I do think it is funny, that is why I keep coming back...the more honest I am, and the more people act the way they have...it only assures me that I am on the right track and helps me to weed out unworthies based upon intellectual ability. I was a teacher for many years, so am familiar with the know-it-all mentality of uneducated and underdeveloped minds. The funniest thing I found though, was someone saying that hsv should be kept private...pretty much until you meet someone you would like to know. Well, this is a sexually slanted/geared site, so I wouldn't want to keep the info from anyone looking at me, as that would be conducive to getting their hopes up if they found me a fit, only to let them down when we get to know each other and want to take it further...I would want to know up front, that way I can be a friend if I don't have it and don't want it, and maybe more if I have it and am looking for someone similar. This seems only logical and responsible to me...but of course, someone will have to argue the point and show how wrong I am for saying anything at all. Well, so you start out talking through e-mail. As friends. Not as some drooling sex fiend. Then if you seem to have chemistryy, before you meet in person let them know and tell them you respect their decisions, but you have all the information about what HSV is and what it isnt. letting them know that even without condoms the tranmission rate of those studied was 5-10%. You also let them know how you are fairing with it and how often your breakouts occur with your meds. I know alot of this info as I teach at a medical vocational . school.
