I'm not on any machine and don't plan on it. I had no idea I had apnea till about 5 years ago and my girl who was in the medical field said I did after she'd see me quit breathing when asleep? I've had maybe 2-3 attacks where I wake up gasping for air BADLY....that's when we kinda put it all together. I sleep like a log. Had no idea what the "attacks" were when they happened but as long as I get my sleep I'm ok with it so maybe mine isn't as bad as some...???? Sleep apnea not treated as in your case causes significant health risks. Heart attack, stroke, pulmonary hypertension, restrictive breathing patterns, hypoxia, impaired gas exchange , impotence, high blood pressure and the list goes on. Sleep apnea is more than just having an attack once in a while. It happens everytime you sleep, you or others may not notice. It is very serious. Get a sleep study done by a professional and go from there.
