Mons...

I'm not on any machine and don't plan on it. I had no idea I had apnea till about 5 years ago and my girl who was in the medical field said I did after she'd see me quit breathing when asleep? I've had maybe 2-3 attacks where I wake up gasping for air BADLY....that's when we kinda put it all together. I sleep like a log. Had no idea what the "attacks" were when they happened but as long as I get my sleep I'm ok with it so maybe mine isn't as bad as some...????

I didn't  want the CPAP machine, until the Dr. said the lack of oxygen to my blood would very soon have a negative impact on my sex life. I took the CPAP home with me that day. No more snoring is just a nice side effect.

Sleep apnea not treated as in your case causes significant health risks. Heart attack, stroke, pulmonary hypertension, restrictive breathing patterns, hypoxia, impaired gas exchange , impotence, high blood pressure and the list goes on. Sleep apnea is more than just having an attack once in a while. It happens everytime you sleep, you or others may not notice. It is very serious. Get a sleep study done by a professional and go from there.

So I like this significant other in my life....but one big problem they SNORE! So what is a girl to do. I've done the nudging having them change positions but really it only perpetuates more snoring. So what would be the solution to this problem because I do like to be close to this person not to mention I'm a serial snuggler. Any suggestions I mean I'm sure breathe right strips might be an option but do they really work? Am I doomed to sleeping alone for the rest of my life lol. *DRAMA QUEEN*

Snore spray (it's in all the pharmacies), nose strips, surgery, and of course, if that doesn't work, you can always move back to where you came from.

i can't sleep in the same bed as a snorer. the last ten years of my marriage i slept on the couch *blinks as those 2 thoughts come together lol. yes it isn't really funny because it did actually contribute to the breakdown of marriage*.
sometimes i would go to sleep earlier but he would eventually wake me up with his snoring. for the most part it was because of my own sleeping issues, i don't sleep well. i cannot wear earplugs either.
if it is as bad as it sounds, a doctor does need to be seen. sleep apnea isn't something you can put off. a CPAP is a small price to pay for the results.
if it isn't sleep apnea there are the breathe rite strips mentioned, diet mentioned. something i realised was that on nights he drank my ex snored much much louder. sleeping on his side helped too, although that meant that i was awake enough to roll him. background or white noise helped some, keeping music playing helped some too.
my ex began doing a small amount of exercise at night, & cut way back on his drinking. both helped.
i sure hope that something somewhere helps.
