I think it shows for itself why he chose so. A high maintenance sail boat he could show off to others, a low maintenance slave he kept away from sight of those he wanted to impress. Therefor no need to put a lot of work into his slave . He needed gratification from others about his High Social Economic Status more than anything else. just mho. Patina
