I need help, advice from anyone who has any suggestions about labia and hood rings. I've been pierced for a long time and of course began with the 14ga captive bead ring. I must have lost $200 worth of those rings during hard play. FInally I though I had found the solution...Tribalectic sells a fixed bead ring so I bought 10ga and had been happy with them until last night. I've once again lost another ring; the "fixed" bead was broken off during an intense scene involving genital torture and many, many strikes with a heavy link chain, a belt, a thumbtack filled board. Has anyone had any experiences like mine and perhaps have found the "perfect" ring that will stand up to VERY heavy play? I'm at my wits end and nearly at the bottom of my wallet. I must, must find something that will stand up to any intense play whether it be blows or chaining or hard pulling actions on the rings. Any advice or suggestions would be so appreciated! Try segemented rings or horseshoe or called stirrup rings can also use the ones that need to be bent together Has had very good luck with the 14 ga segemented ones and using a small amout of a industrial epoxy to seal together once placed but has to be cut off if ever need to be Remember if you travel you may like to use the strirrup ones can be removed easly ALso if traveling and need to have the feel there and pass security use a heavy nylon fishing line or weed wacker line the smooth kind and then heat the ennds and fuse together and then cut out once home

14ga is kind of small to be using for heavy play. You might want to consider stretching the piercings and working your way up to 8 or 6ga. You'll stand much less chance of damaging the tissue and a CBR of that size isn't coming apart without ring expanding pliers, especially if the rings have not been annealed. ~stef

Sir... I have looked at the segmented rings and I think I'll try to find someone at Tribalectic or one of the other good web sites that sell body jewelry their opinionas well. I have no problem about "permanent" rings that may have to be cut off just as I would not have a problem with a permanent collar. Are the horseshoe/stirrup type rings the type that are used with barbells Sir? If that is the case I cannot use them as Master wants rings. I do thank You so much for Your advice and I will most certainly check out the segmented rings. Respectfully, vixen

sfgrrl... I do not have any 14ga rings on my body. I've known for years that 14ga is for decoration only and not intended to be used as my rings are used. I have 10ga rings and have never suffered any tissue damage as my piercings are years old. I can not accomodate an 8ga or 6ga in my labia or clit hood ring...those sizes are simpy too large for the location. I do appreciate your input and will search hard for something suitable and I guess ask more questions before I purchase them Respectfully, vixen

If you feel that 14 is too small a diameter then that is fine but I used them for over 20 years on mine and was fine used for play correction and strechings. Yes the diameter is smaller but if not abused works well. Anything will break (skin included) if you play too rough. Remember not all will agree or disagree with posts here they are only for ones to read and judge if it is for them. Master

I am not sure how EXACTLY to define "hard play", but feel that ANY ring will have a stress tolerance...that is just nature...and when this level is exceeded either one time or from cumulative repeated "play"....they will fail structurally. This is both a GOOD thing and a BAD thing....the BAD:..costs u money to repair/replace the item GOOD side: consider this...if the ring DID not fail....maybe your tissue would....would probably be more expensive to "repair", more painful (hmmm...smile) require time to heal (if ever) and would limit you.... "It is hard to make things fool-proof because fools are so ingenious!"

Not that i'm an expert on piercing jewelry since i don't have any. i do find it to be erotic on a woman. Has anyone ever attempted to make such a ring out of steel cable, preferably plastic coated such as that used in fishing leaders? i would think the cable would be able to stand up to hard play, comes in a variety of guages and can be closed in a number of creative ways.

Larf! Daddy 214... ingenious fools! I am considering piercings in delicate locations and this thread opens my eyes to possible problems. If the play is so hard that the metal gives before flesh maybe consider installing customized plaques (this is off the cuff and visually sci-fi to me) with a gromet-style stretched piercing. Vixenkneels, you seem extreme so walk with me here. Each side of both labial folds would need custom designs for both hygiene, travel and comfort in everyday activities. Since you have already begun the stretching process the plate would distribute 'weight' (or whatever you are distributing) and could offer two holes per fold. Like hanging heavy art, 2 ooks are better than 1. Have I seen this done? No. Would I love to see the final product? Please. Use hypo-allergenic stainless I suppose. I see it either with a welded D-ring or actual lacing thru the piercing in the folds and the metal for attachment points. Beyond that, find a new extreme! Larf! Let me know, girl. el

My suggestion is that you speak with a professional piercist who is into BDSM play......not people who don't deal with the jewelry on a daily basis LOL Titanium, if your body can stand it, is a rather resilient metal. I am very much into having my piercings played with as well. And my experience is that larger gauged rings are way less prone to losing captive beads. I wear 8's in my nipples and the beads don't come out without the fancy pliers. As you get into 4 gauge and larger, the rings come with threaded balls that don't pull off. But you have to use a thread locking compound to make sure they don't work out of the threads over time. One of the biggest advantages to gauging is that you can then use all sorts of funky hardware in your piercings. I've got a couple of largish padlocks that I sometimes wear in my Dolphin for play, and a 1/4 inch stainless shackle that's really fun in my Guiche. Also, if you do lose captive beads, you can get exactly the same thing at bead stores for a lot cheaper. I bought a bag of 100 1/4 inch hematite beads at a bead store for 4 bucks versus 2 bucks each for exactly the same thing at a piercing studio.

Respectfully, vixen kneels first: titanium. if you are not using titanium in the first place, then switch. it is stronger and better for your body (less possibility of current or in-future allergic reaction that can pop up randomly). second: segment rings & screw-in cbrs (the bead only looks as though it's snap-in) are a good idea to try. in lower gauges like 10 under heavy enough play even a titanium segment ring will pop a segment or a cbr end will come undone, but titanium & these two types are your best bet in removable items. a cheap site supplying jewelry from high-quality producers is http://bodyartforms.com (the things they supply run from very cheap basics to very sturdy high-quality items, so look for Industrial Strength and other higher priced items there. it will be clear when you look around what is higher standard. they can also special-order from their suppliers if they do not offer what you want & one of the producers can make it, just email them.) hope that helps some. short of the items i've mentioned or specially-made/non-removable cbr's, there's not much for items that'll hold up in that gauge. best wishes with it!

Why do you say titanium are the best rings? I have a PA and wear a 8g 3/4" segment ring, surgical steel. I would like to go to a 6 g, but see they are hard to put in, once its in it stays, per Mistress rules. Even when I fly, and I fly often and have never had a problem, if so would have to show it. Please tell me more about titanium , is it really that good? I would never use the plastic or ceramic rings, have heard nothing good about them.

Titanium is stronger, lighter, and more resistant to corrosion than stainless steel. Nowadays, it's the predominant metal used for surgical implants(i.e. artificial joints, plates and screws). The downside to titanium is that even though it's one of the more common metals on our planet, it requires more refining than most metals so it's more expensive. Plus, it's one of the most difficult metals to work, which doesn't help to keep the cost down. Another consideration is that some people have a reaction to the nickel in stainless steel. I've never heard of anybody having complications to titanium. And some less than ethical companies will use stainless alloys other than surgical grade stainless. The most common and readily available titanium alloy is 6al/4v which just happens to be the same alloy used in implants.
