subway50 -> Where to start (2/19/2005 6:19:05 PM)

Hi,

I am kind of new to this so a little background may help you help me. I have known all of my adult life of my submissive feelings but have yet, I am 51, to find someone to help me explore and experience what I am feeling. The several serious relationships I have had have all been with strong women with what I would call dominate personalities, yet every time I expressed my interest in BDSM and submitting to them it was the beginning of the end for the relationship. I am not into the bar or club scene and am a bit shy about just showing up at a BDSM club and saying "here I am".

So, where do I start. I would love to find a Woman with whom I could have a permanent long term committed D's relationship with who will lead me to where I need to be.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this. All of your comments are highly valued.

john

The nice thing about going to these kinds of things: munches, and coffee socials etc, is that they are very laid back and informal, and you don't need to do that. Just hang out and listen. Might help you to buils up a little bit of confidence to do that.

Before you get into meeting people off the net, do a little research. You can do that here as well as through google or yahoo. Type in the keywords BDSM SAFETY

You don't have to go to bars or clubs if you don't want to. However, it might serve you well to attend the munch sponsored by your local BDSM group - a munch is simply an informal gathering of the folks, in full vanilla regalia, for dinner in a restaurant to chat and make friends.
