OK I know this is silly and people will say a collar is just a thing blah blah blah, but mine means a lot to me and I have worn it 24/7 since the begining of Oct. But when Master went to remove the lock so that we could switch chains (I got a new sterling silver one thats real nice) the key got stuck and the lock got broken when Master menipulated the key to try and get it out and since the lock is the clasp I cant wear the collar at all

I feel naked without my collar on and it makes me very sad!!! Im also going away takeing my little sisters to Disney world this friday so I will be without Master an entire week and at least if I had my collar on I would have part of him with me. I guess im beeing sorta silly and irational huh??

No, it's not silly or irrational. Objects have power for us (this is one definition of "fetish"). If you have the new chain, tie it on with a piece of study string in a knot so that the string will have to be cut in order to get the new collar off. It's not a lock, but it's still symbolic of "i can't take it off" and may bring comfort.

Thank you Ma'am that is a good idea..

Im already shopping for a new lock but I remeber the first time it was so hard to find the heart shape lock that I really liked and since we bought mine on ebay there is little chance I can find the same lock again..

I love that I wasnt able to take it off even when it was a little bit hard to explain to the jewler that I couldnt get it off (Master wasnt there at the time) so he could messure the lock for the new chain and he had to messure it while I was wearing it (so he could make sure the lock would fit through the chian holes).. its like he has permanent controll over me even when he isnt around there is at least one thing I cant do without him (there are many I never want to do without him) its so hard to put in words really.. I guess thats one of the reason it saddens me.

I understand your feelings and would be very sad under the same circumstances. Perhaps if nothing else a small suitcase lock would at least hold the collar on until you get what you want again. My heart goes out to you since i know i would be extremely upset if my collar was broken. Good luck.

Symbolic and cherrished things. I think the number of humans that have something like this would be incredibly high. Photo's..cat..wedding ring..collar etc. The embodiments of thoughts, reminders, memories within them. Very special things for some people.

just received my chain and now i don't want to ever take it off (unless i shower or wash dishes) i would be upset if mine broke

Maybe if your Master could give you something of his personally like a shirt he's worn lately or something else that has some special significance attached to it for your trip the collar can wait till you get back to be repaired.
That way you'll still feel like you're carrying him with you while you're gone.

((smiles)) actually wana hear the sweetest thing.... For my christmas/Honnukah present Master just took me to build a bear workshop and we built a monkey together and we dressed him in leather and chanes and boots and named him Master Monkey Benjimen

he makes monkey noises and everything master bought it for me and I love it he is even wearing my old collar now and now he is gunna come to Disney world!!

It was the sweetest thing in the world not only the monkey (because I do love stuffed animals and monkeys are my favorate) but the entire experiance of building him together and nameing him and everything it was so much fun and I just loved spending that special time with Master its the memory attached to the Monkey that I will cherish forever!!

I fell so bad about you collar I do not have my perm one yet Master is looking for the perfect one. But i think(once i get it) if it broke would break my heart.

That is so cute he took you to build a bear a sweet romnantic thing to do.

I am very lucky I have a very thoughtfull and sweet Master he cares very much about my happyness...

I am very angry at the stupid lock though I spent a bit of time fiddling with a scre driver and it to see if maybe I could fix it but it didnt work so i stabed the lock a few times with it... witch didnt do anything substantial to the lock but it did make me feel better!!!

Heart shaped locks are everywhere, just do a search, I know there's tons on ebay.

It's not irrational at all- just don't let it be more than it should be.

Dear MagiksSlave, Ladies and Gentlemen;

I don't think you are 'bent' mentally when the powerful symbol of your relationship broke. It would be no different if you misplaced or lost a wedding band or lost or broke the clasp of a special necklace.

Although it is a symbol--it still represents the relationship and without the weight touching your neck and shoulders, it is much like having his hand missing there.

I do have heart shaped locks in brass and silver, takes a handcuff key to open and shut it, if the key to it is lost. It is a luggage lock.
Also Leather Bob Grimes sells these locks. So, in a pinch--I can send you the lock, if you cannot find it elsewhere. (Just contact me off the boards and give me an address to send it to).

Hope you find a replacement soon! Cannot have any naked necked slaves as precious as you running around--you might be scooped up!

I'm SO sorry about your collar. It would break my heart if mine (which I do not have) were to break. It's THE sweetest thing about the bear though. I hope to have such a wonderful Master one day soon.

I can SO empathize!!

My Master was having some difficult family times and I wasn't seeing him much last year. So, I took to carrying his collar with me instead of leaving it at home (it was one I couldn't wear to work). I'd put it on in the car, drive to work, take it off, put it on when I got out of work and wear it home. It made me feel closer to him - silly as it sounds.

Anyway, one night I had to stop on the way home to get my hair done. I didn't want anything to ruin it, so I left it in the car. After that, I went to pay my phone bill. While there, my car was stolen - ok, carjacked. There went my collar.

When he came to pick me up, I had to tell him what was lost. The situation was scary, but the only time I ended up crying was when he got there and the police asked me what of value was in the car. He reassured me that ultimately it's only leather and metal and better I was safe without it than hurt with it. (Actually he said "just think of the carjacker wearing it while being fucked in the ass" which made me laugh and stopped the tears, but I was devastated.)

Since then, I miss it so much. It's never been replaced, and while I have no doubts as to my place in his life, and I know that it's only a material symbol of something far deeper than just that strip of leather, I sure do feel the loss.

February will be a year.

At least you HAVE your collar.

edited to add: I don't mean to sound glib about your situation. I just realized that this sounded just like when my brother-in-law was killed and his wife went to some grief counselling thingies...and the divorcees were arguing with the widows over who'd lost more. The divorcees saying "at least you don't have to look at yours anymore" and the widows saying "at least you know you can always see him - even if you don't want to."

Either way, we're both unable to wear them and that IS sad.

It's totally normal to feel that way. If you were in a vanilla relationship, and your boyfriend gave you a locket that you never took off and the clasp broke, you'd feel the same way. Look on the bright side- at least you didn't lose it!
And remember- the collar is a symbol of your relationship. And while it is a powerful and meaningful symbol, it is not your relationship. When a person loses his/her wedding ring, it doesn't symbolize the end of the marriage. Your collar breaking is simply the law of entropy in action, and means nothing in terms of your relationship. I know how it feels to always want to have something that marks you as your Master's, even if no one else can see it or recognize its meaning. But whether or not you're wearing your collar or have other marks on you, you're still His, because He has claimed you and you have given yourself to Him. Remember that when you feel lost without your collar.
