BS in Mechanical Engineering from U of Buffalo. Certainly got a lot of use out of those 4 semesters of Thermodynamics. As they say, "4 years ago, I couldn't even spell Ingineer, now I are one!"

Oh that's just perfect.

I spent 1 semester at UB. Between the swill they fed us, the faciast architecture and my women's studies class, I transferred out to a kinder, gentler school.

I hold a BS in a social science with some graduate work and actually work in my field.

Graduated HS; joined the US Navy (lots of training/schooling there); got married and had children (that's a learning experience in itself); went to college to get a BS in Marine Biolog, but had to quit due to our daughter's diagnosis of cancer; went back to my second love of horses, and worked as a groom/breeder/trainer, then decided, with encouragement from everyone to follow my first love of photography, and opened my own business as a photographer. Two years later, Master was injured at work (He is a newly retired corrections officer), and now i'm in HR in a great company!

I have a BS in Chemistry with a Biology minor and a BS in Nursing. Holly has a BS in Wildlife Biology with a minor in Conservation.

We are both over-educated for what we do (far, over-educated in her case), but for the most part, we both love what we do, so it's ok ... with us anyway. Parental units are still kinda fuming over me going to a private school for 4 years, and THEN deciding that I wanted to be a nurse instead LOL

Let see...I want to kindergarden, or so i am told i attented that. public schooling right through to graduation. During that time i took a corrispondance art course from the states which i'm begining to think was just a fraud, now i'm in the procress of takeing some accounting courses. Personly i think the best knowledge any one can get is though the experiences of life. No school can teach you anything that is not already in a text book. I believe you must live it to truly understand it.

I don't think this is what you'd call a statistically valid survey, cuz only certain type of people respond to questionaires, and a smaller number than that to open-ended questions. I, however, am one of those type of folks! Seven years in the military gave me enough GI Bill to take 6 years to get a four year degree. It was supposed to be in Math Education, but when I got the notice that the GI Bill credits were to "run out" after two additional quarters it was "OMG, what do I have enough classes in to qualify for a degree in?" Many of the math and EDU classes also gave credit in Psychology; hence the degree in Psychology, appropriately enough a "BS" degree!

A Degree in Psychology in the rural "deep south" get you 'braggin rights' but not much else!

Assoiciates in web design, nearly completed BA in English and working on a 4 year degree in electronic commerce.

Edited to add: Also have a keen interest in Quantum Physics but it's a hobby, not something I'd be interested in doing for a profession. Fascinating topic though.

if I say school was something great...I'd lie...truth is I bore so easily..elem level..and college didn't maintain my interest...even a stint of ten years in the military...why didn't I stay in and retire...bored...the only thing that's held my interest without remission for over 30 years now...this lifestyle...now on that level I've tried to learn and do everything I can...read...view demos...talk to the most experienced in each area...could I get a college degree...sure with two more semesters...should I go back...even I know the answer to that one...will I...doubt it...a piece of paper hanging on the wall isn't a gadge to the knowledge I've gained over the years...I may not know the romance languages..but the lifestyle is my love and she embraces me without scorn...so pfffffffst [;p]

Mostly private parochial schools for K-12 although I spent a couple of years at public.
Was set to go to Harvard as pre-med, but ended up getting married young and putting off college instead. My parents still haven't completely forgiven me.
And now...well, I'm in my first year of nursing school and proud of it. I think it's because I'm doing it for myself instead of having it handed to me by my parents. I don't take education for granted anymore.
Unfortunately, I have a long way to go. My long-term goal is to get my Master's to be a midwife.

I'm a Purdue University honors student dropout! And damned proud of it. Seriously, though, it wasn't for me. I have so much more time to enjoy the things I really love in life. But if you're in school, more power to ya'.

I'd like to continue this thread for some of us newcomers.
