Having had an Ex with a gambling problem, I have my own opinions on this. Having almost lost a relative due to his EX, borrowing from the "casino" and skipping out-I have my opinions on where these places belong. The house always wins.....

Anyhow- we kept it out of PA for many years. Take a guess as to what made the tax payers buy this idea. Ready? Property tax relief. I must say that taxes have gone up more then inflation even in my conservative small town. Scarey-

[BTW- never owe a casino 10 k and bolt- even if you are a pretty female.]

More than inflation? Try five times more than inflation.

L-M, yes- you said it. I fgure my place is over assessed by 40%.

Arguing with the county solves nothing. I can see where some of the elderly take to eating dog food......

At least you guys don't have a fake Indian casino on every block. Gambling is by far one of the most socially degenerative diseases out there. But I say live and let live.....if folks wanna blow their money playing cards or on quarter slots, and it lowers property taxes, more power to ya.

There is also a casino coming to Pittsburgh. Look for some legal manuervering by the Steelers and the Pirates organizations (they don't want the casino near their parks and there is a parking issue that close to the stadiums). And most likely the Penguins will be leaving (although at this point it's too early to make that prediction).

I worked in a casino for about two weeks, LOL. Shortest job I've ever had. Quit not fired. Didn't like it at all.

It's quite crazy what these gambling addicts put into those machines. This one lady would get 100 dollars every other time around the floor. I pushed the chip cart around to give people chips.

But despite that I guess they should be legal from a personal freedom point of view, personally I only went once to a casino as a customer and can't see myself going back anytime soon. They are just like drugs for some people though, that lady, blew through a shit load of money everyday I worked for those two weeks.
