ORIGINAL: Grlwithboy experiment with stuff - and everyone's different. Clovers never fazed me but tweezer clamps drove me batshit when I was self-testing. Clip your clothespins to something for a few days that holds the jaws wide, and it will soften the pinch a bit. Or try the plastic kind, they're a little less aggressive I've found. I must admit, I was surprised to see this, as well as talk of clothespins being too harsh; presumably being male makes a big difference here, but I find clothespins pretty tame (even though these were sold as "extra strong"!) - putting them on for a few minutes, then taking them off and immediately reattaching them turned through 90 degrees is pretty intense, though. For a few minutes at a time, I've found bulldog clips and the big clamps from a car battery charger are tolerable, but only just. I've never tried clover clamps (yet); I've seen a few sites selling a pair joined with a bar, along with a screw to pull them away from the wearer's chest - usually expensive, but I do like the way they look...
