Does anyone remember laughter ? Jimi Page.

I am a budding rock star of course. Up until about 3 PM today there were five guitars and three amps in my livingroom.

Well I decided to teach our newest budding guitaerist this rif. It is almost the easiest thing in the world to play, sounds good on three string even on a acoustic. Perhaps you'll recognize it :

E-E-E-E-F,
E-E-E-E-G,
E-E-E-F-G-F-E

Yes, on Christmas I played guitar.

Anyway, if anyone knows I would like some direction here. If my assumptions are correct, if you play E, F and G you are playing in the key of C. If you use E and G, but instead of F you use Fsharp or Gflat, you are in the key of G. Is that correct ?

Or would some modified E clef go there, like minor or something. I forgot all those symbols. I remember G, Every Good Boy Does Fine and F-A-C-E. With a different clef the lines mean something else.

I am also getting heavy into the mathematics of a guitar. These things were designed this way for a reason. I see the neck as a grid.

Also, if anyone can come up with some good resources on tab, for the beginner I would appreciate it. I don't mean reading tab to copy popular stuff, I mean to write it.

Anyone into this or am I a candle in the wind ?
