Remember, it was what I begged for

Remember, it was what I begged for.
Though I will beg for release
Your denial does not make you an ogre.

For Your lack of mercy You may feel poor
When You mercilessly tease*
Remember, it was what I begged for.

An ogre is the concentration camp guard who closes the door
On the “shower” with ease.
Your denial does not make you an ogre.

You might think You lack a compassionate core
Knowing, as You do, of my disease;
Remember, it was what I begged for.

The sailors who tied Odysseus to the mast were not evil, nor
Are You for denying and doing what would please.
Your denial does not make you an ogre.

Your actions leave me begging for more
And Your denial grants me a great inner peace.
Remember, it was what I begged for.
Your denial does not make you an ogre.

* In case you don’t know your mere existence is tease enough. (OK, get the snow shovels:))
