I just love white chocolate. I love to just place it in my mouth and enjoy the flavor as it melts away.

CalliopePurple -> RE: White Chocolate (12/28/2006 1:45:40 PM)

Give me 60% cacao dark chocolate any day of the week and I'll be a very happy person. Milk chocolate is too damn sweet for me late. It has to be dark and kinda bitter to be any good.

Lordandmaster -> RE: White Chocolate (12/28/2006 1:54:02 PM)

And the best is drinking ice water right after a piece of bitter chocolate!  No idea why, but that's fucking delicious.

I have such a weakness for really good dark chocolate.

I detest that abomination called white chocolate. I have become so spoiled with good dark chocolate I don't even eat much milk chocolate anymore.

General reply to all the dark chocolate lovers:

The good news is that the dark chocolate has some 'stuff' in it thats supposed to be very good for us....called flavenoids (sp?).  Not sure what it's all about, but I heard it or read it recently.  Plus, the darker chocolates are very low in carbos.  I mean, you still cant eat like a pound of it, But an ounce or two has like under 10 carbs in it.  So if you're a keto-freak, you can have your chocolate and eat it too.

I recently tried CocoVia (you can find it in the diet bars section)...its yummy.  You can have a whole bar and its fortified with all kindsa good shit and it tastes very good, very bitter-sweet and creamy.  The whole bar has about 7 carbs if I recall correctly.

Lordandmaster -> RE: White Chocolate (12/28/2006 7:57:44 PM)

It's massively high in saturated fat, but nihil nimis.

Then don't eat a fucking pound of it, Brainiac.

Cocovia only has 3.5 g of saturated fat for the whole bar (which is only 1 gram higher than olive oil which is considered low for saturated fat.) 3.5 is hardly "massively high" in fat. And it has 12 carbs, but you can deduct the 2 that are fiber. so its 10 net carbs for a decent sized bar.

I dont know about regular bittersweet chocolate such as Lindt or other brands, but I dont think its much higher in saturated fat than the other one.  The chocolates that are made for candy making are much higher in saturated fats, as they have some of the cocoa butter removed and other fats are added to make it a smoother melt to work with.

BlkTallFullfig -> RE: White Chocolate (12/29/2006 9:48:22 PM)

I don't eat chocolate except a few times/year, but when I do, it always includes white chocolate, because that is my favorite!    I love it, and don't mind milk chocolate, but dark chocolate I find far too bitter, so no thanks.
And Ron, what have you been doing with your white chocolates, LMAO???  M

Lordandmaster -> RE: White Chocolate (12/29/2006 11:15:44 PM)

That's exactly what "nihil nimis" means, darling.

Such a pretty mouth.

Manawyddan -> RE: White Chocolate (1/6/2007 5:10:09 AM)

We're not arguing, we're expressing our preferences.

I am pretty much a chocolate slut, but my preference is for the darkest of dark chocolate, eaten slowly with water or red wine.

I personally find white chocolate to be disgusting.

JerseyKrissi72 -> RE: White Chocolate (1/6/2007 5:21:20 AM)

chocolate slut?  i am a slut too[8D]

MsLayla -> RE: White Chocolate (1/6/2007 5:36:08 AM)

I have been spoilt rotten with -good- chocolate since I moved to Belgium.. Those choco bars just don't do it for me any more... *sniff*

SlaveAkasha -> RE: White Chocolate (1/6/2007 5:39:47 AM)

I pretty much only like the white chocolate in the form of a latte'...but boy is it good then.

My favorites are the Dove dark..Godiva dark... they just melt in your mouth.  The best part is, the taste is sooooo rich and good that I can have a piece or two and feel satisfied.

RobertCloud -> RE: White Chocolate (1/6/2007 7:32:28 AM)

Dark Chocolate and the Darker the better, though I admit a friend sent me a bar from Austria that was 95% Cacao, that was too Dark and Bitter even for me.
The New Hersheys 65% Cacao with Blueberries, Cranberries and Nuts (I think Hazlenuts but could be almonds, I paid more attention to the berries).. that is wonderful.

I do prefer Dove or Godiva and Ghiradelli Dark Chocolates, and I prefer to follow them with a Latte, or Expresso, but even a good cup of Kona Hawaiian Coffee is wonderful.

As far as white chocolate, I can live without it. It is okay for some things once in a great while, I found some white chocolate covered cherries that were the real dried cherry and no sweet cream goo, those were okay, but would have been better if it was Dark Chocolate.

Rogueswitch -> RE: White Chocolate (1/8/2007 10:39:16 AM)

white chocolate has to be milkybar

i prefer dark chocolate green and blacks or fortnums and masons .

recently discovered melting bar of chocolate and putting cayenne and chilli in it and mixing cream into it , fondue style , yum
