Ahhhhhhhh. Thanks for the trip back in time!

Halloween was a time to gather with your buddies and go as a  group.  We would walk all over town and get home around 1130 at night.  No one worried about someone kidnapping us. The only thing we worried about was getting a piece of fruit somewhere instead of candy. LOL....

Dodgeball wasnt a sport, it was a way of life for a while in junior high.

Summer was made for wandering all over coming back home in time for supper, then head back out till the moon and stars were out.   Then it was time for hide and seek.

Like the others stated, I walked everywhere until I got my bicycle for my birthday....then
it was ride all over town....and being responsible enough not to run anyone over, get in the way of traffic, etc....if you did any of those things, that was a sure way to lose the privilidge of riding.

School was something that you had to attend, and do well at.  If you accomplished something good in school then you were rewarded with something special at home, a treat of some kind...never got paid for good grades.  But if you did something bad at school and was punished.......then you were punished at home.

Allowances were earned by doing chores at the house, not because you were entitled to them, and if you wanted something that was more than what you got, you either saved for it, or went out and earned the money by doing odd jobs.

T. V. was fun..........4 channels.......three networks and pbs......and if the president was on................the night was shot......it was on every channel including pbs.

God, how did we survive without these things now, that kids take for granted???
Ipods, video game players, portable game players, portable dvd players, to take on trips.

Thanks again for the trip to the past...its time to get in the time machine go back and start a snowball fight complete with snow forts...got to get the snowshovels ready to use as catapults.......[:D]

I grew up in australia .. we had frisbees and kites and yoyo's .. there was even a huge marble craze as I recall.. we'd ride our bikes along the railway tracks .. and go bush all day catching yabbies ( freshwater cray) you'd disappear about 6 am with a piece of mums best steak from the freezer, a roll of string, a bucket, homemade sandwiches and a couple of oranges....turn up about 7pm with about 40 yabbies..your mum would get that green around the gills look as your dad boiled them all and ate them..

I remember the day we got a colour TV.. oh and the day the leisure centre got the games you could play on the tv.. remember the tennis game?.. black screen  two rectangular "bats" one on the left , one on the right.. and a "ball'...we lined up for ages for a turn on it.....Allie

Ahhhh yes, remember my cousin having that game late 70s and space invaders....... going to the swimming baths, flying down the slide for half an hour and then upstairs for a few games of space invaders.

Collecting bees in jars and catching frogs.........building camps in the woods and hiding sweets in them....playing all sorts of sports from football, tennis, snooker, darts, cricket............easy life, good times!

Getting done at school and sent to the headmaster for drawing a tiny pair of tits on my artwork and my mam having to come down the school to get involved........imagine a 13 year old lad having to explain that to his mam, not so good times!
