Stephann -> RE: what in the world is financial humiliation? (12/29/2006 7:41:47 PM)

Hi, and welcome to the forums. You probably don't realize it, but this question alone is enough to start an avalanche of bickering. In a nutshell, it's the practice where a submissive voluntarily gives complete control of their finances to the dominant. It could be subtle, such as the submissive being required to ask permission to buy anything for personal use (a new shirt, television, movie tickets.) It could be overt - the submissive signing elaborate financial documents giving the dominant complete financial control over their entire life, from rent to property to savings to IRA - everything. The most common form we see online is typically a woman who 'specializes' in Financial Domination. It's on par with a web-cam girl setup: the submissive is expected to make financial purchases to be delivered, or direct cash or credit card (usually through paypal) transfers. In exchange, the girl will often take a photo of herself wearing her new $800 outfit, or send a pair of panties (presumably hers) or some other evidence of her use of his money. As you can imagine, the scenarios can vary widely, with varying degrees of 'respectability.' The most common character is that these exchanges exist almost exclusively in cyberspace. The fetish and practice is, obviously, legitimate. However, women who 'specialize' and often dangle real life interaction (after X dollars have been gifted) are usually viewed with contempt. Hope that helps. Enjoy the Firestorm. Stephan
