ORIGINAL: missturbation Could they not have found a different reason to go to war, one that did not involve the killing of innocent victims? Widespread resentment and alienation toward the national government appears to be fueling a growing acceptance of conspiracy theories about the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. I think this could be fairly accurate - the more you dislike someone, the more you are likely to believe they would do terrible things. Conspiracy-believing participants in the poll agree their suspicions are recent. Could this not just be we dont like what the government has done so lets add a conspiracy theory to the list? With respect you seem to like your conspiracies over there, john f kennedy, aliens, elvis, marilyn monroe etc etc. Maybe its a little paranoia? i dont think thats what fuels a conspiracy theory. The quickest way to create and fuel a conspiracy is with obvious inconsistancies. Here is an example...For instance if your dad died while pumping up a car tire because it exploded and you looked at the air pump and the gauge of the pressure in the air tank was 30 pounds that would cause you to immediately question how its possible with only 30 pounds of air to explode a car tire. Then if you discovered charred residue on the fender you would have yet further concern knowing that only an accelerant would leave such residue not air. Then if the police were to quickly take the car and put it in the junk yard to be crushed for scrap and shipped out, that would be even further concern, at least in this country because it is illegal to remove evidence and dispose of it from a crime scene. that would be even more room for concern. Then when you discover that your dad had a 20 million dollar insurance policy that would go to his business partner upon his death, then the picture starts to unfold that maybe something is awry. When the government or anyone for that matter in things like this, create questions with their inactions, inappropriate analysis, failure to investigate, etc etc etc that is what fuels conspiracy theorists. It is pretty well known at this late date that the kennedy assasination was a conspiracy on some level. Simply to many things happened that are far to coincidental that calculating the odds you wind up with a rediculous number of zeros at the end of the number. So that ishow conspiracies are born. i think people become alienated when they are lied to, by your best buddy or the government. The bush admin is on a lot of peoples shit list for lying about wmd's in iraq so we would go along with his war. That alienates people and if he purports lies as truth and the puzzle does not fit then there is often a good chance the truth can be found elsewhere for those who are willing to dig for it and put in a little elbow grease and hard work and then of course there are the masses if you will who odten times do not even know who the president of the country is that are clueless from the start, those in denial that if it comes from another source but the government many think its from quacks or conspiracy nuts at first glance rather than look at the facts. So conspiracies do happen, and they are real but only to those who work at gathering the evidence. Over 2000 people died and this country owes we the people an honest answer. It takes a while to gather info... there is so much involved in something like this a person trying to work their way through it almost needs a phd in virtually everything in life to figure it out. In the case of 911 we are talking: Building construction The mechanical and failure properties of steel The temperature it melts at demolition techniques how buildings fall when demolished vs just topples over how fires burn chemical reactions and on and on and on and on literally That in addition with mounds of data regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident itself. i can easily come up with 5 pages of inconsistancies regarding the collapse of 911. then there is people movements, meetings, who is talking with who, and you find literally mounds of inconsistancies that never show up in an honest joe type incident. So its not that we americans like our conspiracies its that we are not to quick to take things being sold to us at face value unless at least the greater majority of the peices to the puzzle fit first. No one questioned the plane that hit the empire state building. there were no major inconsistancies there. People usually do not make war with other countries. governments do.
