Inspired by a post in another thread.

I was wondering; if another person were to see your personal space (home/room/etc...), what type of person do you think they would see you as? Also; would they be right, do you believe your surroundings reflect who you as a person?

Yes i think the things that surround me reflect who i am. I have family photos which show my love of my family, the lap top is always out - my love of being online. Cds are everywhere, love my music. My room has dolls tied in bdsm positions, bad taste bears, toys, teddies all reflecting different sides of me. There are books all over the house bcos as anyone here knows i just love to read.

My surroundings reflect the fact that I live with a couple who have two children and no matter what I may desire about the house being picked up..it doesnt always work.

depends on the day. Somedays my space is clean other days stuff all over the place it says some days I am in control and other days just leave me alone.

They would see I have no space for anything and live in a shoebox. I kinda reside in my room when i am home in front of my computer. They would also see I love antiques from the asian silk on my walls to the desk that I use for my computer (restored craftsman-type desk).

My whole place has too many things and not enough room. I used to run an antique online store from my home and kept many of the things which I liked for myself.

My Daddy's place says a lot. It is about the same size as mine, but there is only him and he has sparse furnishings presently as he just got finished moving around. He has some nice art, his place is very reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright in architecture. The most stunning thing about where he lives is that he is on the third floor with a panoramic harbor view which from his place on a clear morning one can see sunrise over the Sierras at the mouth of the harbor. I do not think I have ever witnessed anything so beautiful in my life. It has a mythical quality to it. Imagine that with ships in the distance. His view is to die for. I remember when we were looking for his place and we walked into it, my jaw dropped when I saw the view, and I just knew it was The Place! What does that say about him? Well just that he appreciates life.

You would notice that I am obsessed with being clean but not so organized lol...You would realize I'm a big kid at heart with all my teddybears, dolls, etc..You would see how spoiled my cat is with all his toys and treats lol

right now, I live in my parents guest room. My space is always cluttered becasue i have more things than i do room for them. Does it reflect who I am, no. Not at all, but it does reflect where my life was atwhen I got here. Chaos.

I do beleive that ones environment tells alot about them. A peek into my environment would show a person just how moody I am.

Any place you are for more then a week has to reflect who you are...you have no choice...it is nature...mine is organized confusion that only I understand...

if a person seen my space- they would conclude i am dangerous. mainly teck toys and book titles i read.

also- they would sense a uniqueness- that only i possess. a creative soul.

I was sitting here reading thru this then started to look around. Big expansive room, warm old gold plaster walls, big huge windows over looking the valley, two big comfy leather couches, art all over the place, huge house plants, antiques all around, lots of framed photos of family and friends, a few dog hair dust bunnies, some dust, a semi messy kitchen from last night, hundreds of CD'd and DVD's in the racks near the tv and stereo, piles of books stacked here and there, bowls of crystals and rocks, little hard Schleich plastic wild animals placed in unexpected places, a collection of interesting feathers interspersed in one small pile of rocks, dog sprawled on the sofa, bird singing in his cage, fish tank starting to get a bit of green to it. Oh yeah, it's me alright.
