Publius was a bit optimistic about one of my least favorite parts of the Constitution.

Well you "count" (we're currently at 69) by posting a funny and/obscure reference, in homage to Ron's posts, without actually mentioning the number. My references, I'll confess, sometimes benefit from Google.

Here are the sixties, in an effort to clear things up.

if you beat me in a game of chinese chekers, i'll give you a nice diamond pendant
There are 60 marbles in a Chinese checker set, and the 60th is the diamond anniversary.

Mickey Mantle: She looks me dead in the eye, and says, "I thought you was a homo." I said "What the hell are you talkin' about" she goes "well I heard you was a switch hitter."
Quote from the move 61*

Wierd Al was great in UHF
He played the manager of U62.

Was it a good year? Hard to say. John XXIII and JFK both died. On the other hand I was born (the day after JFK's funeral, actually).
Those events all took place in '63.

will you still need me?
... when I'm 64 (song lyric)

This hyar is my peacemaker.... LBJ
I think a reference to Vietnam talks in '65.

I'm bored, and I need to do something for kicks. Maybe a road-trip...
... on Route 66

Give me a ticket for an aeroplane, ain't got time to take a fast train....
Reference to a song from '67

The process of election affords a moral certainty, that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications."
-- Publius was a bit optimistic about one of my least favorite parts of the Constitution.

Quote from The Federalist, number 68

See this scar on my head? I got it at the convention----you liar there ain't no scar on my head, I was a little kid at the time... Rich
Reference to the violence at the '68 Democratic Convention (I think)

Rob Lowe + me = ecstasy
(Of course, this may be TMI.)

Wishful thinking for a 69 scenario!

Hope this helps!

God, I wonder what it's like to fly at 2,193.1669 mph (3,529.56 km/h). And do you get complimentary peanuts?

Accept my compliments for that fine post; first time we've drawn two consecutive numbers for the same source. And I love the bunny-theater hint!

It must have if the bills were still coming in two years later.

Still, Montreal fared better than poor old Pompeii.
