I actually looked it up one night to debate this with one of My friends, since the world may never know, to quote the old Tootsie Roll commercials of yore.

the H stood for Hoobestank in one of the sites lol

Slang/profanity that happened to catch on.

Someone in another forum today asked what MILF meant.
To my knowledge only one movie used that term and now everyone uses it.

LaTigresse -> RE: Jesus H Christ... (1/2/2007 9:25:46 AM)

now if it was an "F" I could tell ya

Emperor1956 -> RE: Jesus H Christ... (1/2/2007 9:33:34 AM)

SaigonHeat -> RE: Jesus H Christ... (1/2/2007 11:36:19 AM)

The "H" stands for "Hates Pinko Communists."  Too bad the Viet-Cong didn't know that little tid-bit of information.

LaTigresse -> RE: Jesus H Christ... (1/2/2007 11:37:56 AM)

Ahhhhhhhh, dude. In case you didn't know it is now 2007.

darchChylde -> RE: Jesus H Christ... (1/2/2007 11:41:09 AM)

it's funny how comfortable a person is with ascribing ideas and beliefs about somebody who probably doesn't have an account here to clarify things

Mercnbeth -> RE: Jesus H Christ... (1/2/2007 12:04:14 PM)

Jesus H. Christ - It's a passive/aggressive way to announce you know him personally. How many middle names, or middle initials, of your close personal friends do you know? If you've "found him" or "have him in your heart" or answer every life issue by first asking "WWJD?"; you should know that person's middle initial, if not his middle name.

Besides an inflammatory explanation initiated by say Charles R. Darwin doesn't work. For example; Charles R. Darwin! It's not going to suck itself!" - Doesn't have the same impact. Indicating religion will always have a place in evolution discussions. Consider; "Well that's all well and good, but Jesus H. Christ Charley how do you explain the duck billed platypus!?

It's best that Jesus' name was used for this purpose. Not only does it roll off the tongue but, considering what occurred with the cartoons, if Mohammad was used similarly you could be subject to death if it was said in the wrong forum. And for the curious, Mohammad did have more than one name. According to what I've read, after serving a rich merchant widow 15 years his senior, she bestowed upon him the surname of 'Al-Amin', or 'Mohammad the Trustworthy'. Still not as effectual.

Is Buddha a first or last name?

darchChylde -> RE: Jesus H Christ... (1/2/2007 12:11:45 PM)

actually, "Buddha" is not a name but a title or a descriprion of anyone who has reached total enlightenment, especially without a teacher
