Winter personified: O, thou dearest wintry breeze, chilly fingers sought to freeze. Thy icy tendrils do so gently creep, causing all to succumb to thy call of sleep. Thou hast heralded thy sister sweet. All do tremble at Her frosted feet. Madame Winter comes to call. Her brother Death consumeth all. Her frigid breath doth still all motion. E’ery rose dies in the embrace of Her devotion. Her wheezing breath whistles through his chest. Coughing and dying, he is put to rest. His beloved sheds her tears, while she reflects upon past years. But he could not withstand Her will in the end. And to Her will, he did slowly bend. Her power-laden fingertips did spread Her winter gloom. All the ailing knew this meant their impending doom. Her onslaught came brutal and swift. Her tentacle reaches far did drift. Nary a man, woman or child was spared. All that winter did not safely fare. And the moral of this ode is such: Love you well whom you love much.
