sleazy -> RE: Question for the Brits, and those that wish they were. (1/10/2007 1:51:12 PM)

My children soon learnt that it was I who dictated their diet, most of their clothing choices, hell practically everything on some level or another. They soon learned that asking for something repeatedly was a sure way to make sure they never got it, be it candy, toys, the "in" clothes or whatever. I made the choice to have children and as such I had certain obligations and responsibilities, most of all I did not think it was the responsibility of the state nor anyone else to raise them for me, I had to make the choices and for as long as that was possible they generally turned out to be pretty well-adjusted, good mannered, and intelligent kids with respect for themselves, each other and the people they interacted with. However in this day and age that is becoming both unusual and difficult to achieve.
