Hi,

Newbie slave here.

I'd like to know the five most important requirements a slave must adhere to before a Mistress will consider him for service.

This will vary from person to person but here are my own:

1. Have a personality.
2. Be intelligent.
3. Be repectful
4. Be willing to learn
5. Understand it's not all about your kinks (and I mean really understand, not just claim to.)

Here are mine, though this is the first time I've listed such a thing as a list of five. There are more but these are the ones that jump out of my mind when you asked, saltcod.

1) Live in my area of the world. Within a three hour drive and have the finances to cover travel.

2) Be single. If someone is to be my slave that means putting me in the place of first priority -- not a partner, not a dependent, not even a job should be in first place.

3) Be poly or open to it. I have a poly family and am only looking to add to it, not to substract anything from my life.

4) Be bisexual -- I have a slave who wants a play partner, too.

5) Be geeky and liberal -- my family is geeky and liberal, we'll really only work well with another geek. Of course we decide what is on the geek side of the line. Into history, RPGs, science fiction, fantasy, horror, science, bad movies, games, WoW, etc. Liberal well, that's more about politics and the application of law.

Well, the last time I did an inspection I had the wrong plumbing to be a mistress, but I have quite a few as friends, and they all talk about the lack of submissive men with a clue. So perhaps it would be helpful for you to know what I hear from them when they are discussing the subject.

1) She's a woman, not a life support system for a cunt and a whip hand. Treat her like one.

2) She's seen a penis before. When she wants to see yours, she will let you know.

3) Don't belittle yourself. Only prodommes cater to "pathetic, worthless" men, and only because they get paid to.

4) Don't bring up sex or bdsm play. When she wants to turn the conversation in that direction, she will.

5) Don't tell her how wonderful she is and that you want to serve her forever when you don't even know her. What you are really saying is that you would serve anyone, and she isn't just anyone. Make her feel special.

1) Willingness to Jump in... Look for and find the type of domina/profile that interests you, read it thoroughly, than email her telling about yourself as a person and why you found her profile interesting.
2) Have basic social skills, be a gentleman until she tells you to be otherwise.
3) Pay attention/remember what things seem to be important to her in writing or conversation, and have a good/positive/respectful personality.
4) Learn about courtship, pursue her with enthusiasm if you want her attention, and back off if she gives you that vibe or direction.
5) Know yourself enough to be honest about who you are and what you want/need... If you are in doubt about a term or label (say submission), at a minimum, take the safe route, and look it up in a dictionary or wikipedia for the basics so that you can later compare thoughts on it.
5a) If responding to a domina like myself, be SINGLE, sans girlfriend, wife, etc. M

In general, my basic criteria is something like this:

1) Intelligence.
2) Obedience.
3) Presentation.
4) Attitude.
5) Education.

Thankfully, my slave got top marks in all five categories.

Edit: I should point out that I'm not a Mistress, but I don't see why my categories can't cross gender lines.

For me, in no particular order...

1) Compatibility (which includes no significant others, having shared vanilla interests, etc.)
2) Sense of humour
3) Educated (formal or not... but you have to like life & be curious)
4) Capable and willing to be monogomous
5) Not expecting or pressuring for sex/play right away... it takes time to know a person, and you MUST be willing to take a chance and invest in that time.

Relationships are like full time jobs and should be treated as such. If your boy/girlfriend wants to leave, they should give you two weeks' notice and severance pay. Also they should have to find you a temp.

Heres mine, to add to the kitty
1) Have your own personality and opinions. If we cant talk, we will never get anywhere
2) Be trustworthy from the very beginning. Do not start out with even a little white lie
3) Have the ability to have a conversation about something other than the lifestyle and sex
4) Have self confidence and self esteem, if you dont think you are worth my time I am probably going to agree with you that you arent.
5) take care of yourself. Good hygiene, a little attention to how you look and carrying yourself well make for good impressions.

1) Solvent and in employment
2) Intelligent and educated (and so interesting)
3) Amenable, secure and friendly personality
4) Likes cats
5) Fit and healthy mind and body
