what is everyone else's view?
personally i believe people shouldnt have to pay for online fun. This leads to the potential trouble for scammers who take the money and run and are untraceable. Plus your hardly getting your money's worth most of the time...a few words from a dom thats it. Tribute should be for r/t play only, in my opinion.

People pay for what they want, they decide for themselves whether it was worth the money.

You say people shouldn't have to pay for it- well they don't.  No one is making them.

There is a wonderful old saying "A fool and his money are soon parted".

pixie,

it is simple, just do not pay, there are many that do and hopefully those that charge give a full measure of talent.

If you want my time and attention, and you are not suited for the real time, in person, 24/7 TPE I seek, you pay, period.  That applies to online, phone, OR real time.  If you do not offer me what I seek in terms of subservience, then I do not feel like offering what you seek in terms of dominance.  For me, online "play" as you call it is boring as hell, and if you want that from me, it must be incentivised, period.

MsSonnetMarwood -> RE: tribute for online play (1/5/2007 12:51:52 PM)

If when you say you shouldn't "have to pay for online fun", does that mean the if folks are online, they are somehow entitled to get online wanking material for free?

In the grand scheme of things - I don't see where providing an online session, a phone session, or a face to face session are all that different in intent, in that it's a service rendered for payment.  No one is obligated to purchase any such services, anymore than anyone is obligated to provide such services for free/no strings attached.

Don't be fooled by the other responses. Remember the value of anything is determined by what you pay for it. Now I could give you the "real" "true" answer, but you'll have to transfer some funds to my pay-pal account first.

If you are playing with a professional, online or offline, you should expect to pay for it. It is their job or career afterall.

Hiya.

Welcome to "WoS ignorant moment"  :)

What does TPE stand for?

Cheers.

Total Power Exchange :)  At least that's how I intended it.

Funny you should ask this, because I was emailing a few days ago with a gentleman (using the term loosely) a few states south of me, and found we were having decent conversation...   That is until instead of asking if this or next month would be a good time for him to fly up and take me out for a drink, he asked me to train him online to be a slave.
I told him it would be hard for him to do my dishes and laundry from the computer, but if he could figure out a way, I would be game.
There is absolutely nothing for me in playing online with a stranger...  I'll flirt with my lover online if we are in different places and feel like staying in touch that way, but I would be the type to charge if I were to have to think of wanking material for a boy who's only interested in cyber play.   M

What?

Okay, do you mean to say that people should not be allowed to charge for online play?  So a ProDomme could not charge a client for that?  So she would have to give it for free?  To anyone who asks?  Do you know how many men would sign up?

Is this one of the best topics ever, or what?

Yours?

I think the etiquette should be that if they intend to take money for the session, the Dominant should have to have it in their profile.  They should not be surprised when someone questions them wanting money if they don't openly have it in their profile.

kc692 -> RE: tribute for online play (1/5/2007 8:13:40 PM)

Even when said dominant doesn't address cyber at all because she's not interested? Yet constantly gets offers of pay to indulge in such activities, or better yet, gets someone that can't understand why they wouldn't want to cyber, because they don't like typing and the other person is half a world away and never intends to visit their area??Oh, hell, now instead of a us being a faceless domme with a whip, we can lug a keyboard....oh yeah.
