It may sound like a stupid question, but to me it really isn't that dumb. I love making others laugh. I love making myself laugh more. I go for the joke but understand when to be serious. I take this lifestyle serious but I see no reason not to laugh.

I could not agree more.

humor is extremely important for me, it's what gets me through life! If i can't laugh at myself then i'd be crying all the time...i love to laugh and really appreciate people who are able to laugh and not take life so seriously.

I definitely count a sense of humor as one of the more important qualities I find attractive. Life can be so ****ing hard some days, it is important to be able to look at things lightly sometimes.

I'm always attracted to a guy with a good sense of humor.[:D]

I live for humor! (Though I can't say I'm that funny) For me it's a huge turn on, cuz I love to laugh. My brother is an amazing comedian, he hopes one day to be a stand up comic. Honestly, I've never known any other 16 year old who can get me (not to mention a room full of 40-somethings) into that silent-laugh mode! Sometimes life is just too serious, and laughter IS the best medicine

I can laugh at myself after a bit of time has passed and I can see the humor in the situation after I get past being embarrassed. The following event happened last Sunday morning. JT is my spouse.

I am losing my mind. Menopause isn't being nice to me. This morning JT got up and got dressed and was gone before 7 am. He called shortly after 7 and said he was at Wal-Mart and had locked his keys in the truck and to please come and bring the spare keys. So, after teasing him a bit I got up and dressed and moseyed over to Wal-Mart. He's sitting on the tailgate of the truck reading the paper when I get there. I unlock the door and the keys aren't in the ignition. He pats his pockets and they are in his jacket pocket. I laugh and tell him I won't tell anyone he knows. (liar) So, he leaves and I go into Wal-Mart and fool around a while, then go fill up with gas and on to Kroger. I get home about 9 and he's home. I'm puzzled. Why isn't he at work? I let the dogs out and fill the bird feeder and come in the house and ask him if today is a holiday. He looks at me funny and says no. So, I ask why he isn't at work, that it's 9 am. He says because it's Sunday and he's getting ready for church. DUH! He laughs and says he won't tell anyone. Great. I feel dumb as a rock. Did I mention that I can be reached at i'madoofus.com?

Laughing helps you live longer...and spritually and physically it is really good for you.

Laughter helped me get out emotional ruts that I could not have otherwise snapped out of.

BlkTallFullfig -> RE: Is humor attractive? (2/25/2005 9:49:15 PM)

Yes, I find a sense of humor and ability to laugh at self very essential for anyone, but definitely for a happy/peaceful coexistance with me.
Of course there is a time and place for everything, I will say I'm not into people who clown around all the time. M

I enjoy making others laugh too, even if it's at my expense.

The worst job I ever had was at a place where I couldn't make one single person laugh, ever! I dislike it when people take themselves too seriously.

Giggling is even better : )

Paulnz -> RE: Is humor attractive? (2/26/2005 3:47:05 AM)

While I agree in general, my advice to those meeting people or groups for the first time is to be serious. First impressions are important and it is easier to create a good first impression when being serious. Like a job interview, know your subject, be serious and leave the jokes to later.

AnonymousSir -> RE: Is humor attractive? (3/3/2005 6:24:46 PM)

Humor is very attractive, me myself and I. I tend to be a rather odd, zany guy when not in a situation which demands I act more responsible and set an example. In the public eye and when simply playing around with either my vanilla, or D/s participating friends I have an odd, Very up front sense of humor.

Any person without a sense of humor, or who cannot see some sort of joke in most things, even if they are rarely spoken.. tends not to get along with me, as I see the funny, odd and generally rediculous side of almost everything.

But, don't mistake me, seriousness has it's place as well, truely I would put them on a balance when it comes to importance. For one without the other in equal makes a person unable to cope with some things well.. that's why so many people in america, and the world these days are so unhappy, they are unbalanced and see too much bad in everything, not enough good, or not enough that is funny.

After all, laughter is one of the few medicines for the Soul, and we all need healing of the Soul, from time to time.

Yes. If you have no sense of humor, you are usualy a complete bore, or if you can not take a joke, you and I will not likely get along. THis has been how my relationships have gone in all aspects of my life.

Humor important ? you bet your sweet bippy !

[sm=lol.gif]sissy Feels exactly as you do too, GreyStorm, but based on the reactions he's been receiving to his humor lately, sissy had to vote a categorical "no" in your poll ... except ya didn't have that option, you doofus, so sissy voted "Obligatory Other" instead.

What the hell is "Obligatory Other" anyways ? sissy Has only ever voted that option one other time in his whole life, when he lived in Florida, and Jeb Bush was elected Governor as a consequence. Oh, wait ... sheesh ... nevermind ... that was "A Big Tory Brother" ... sorry about that.

I love humor, but people don't tend to understand mine. I am highly sarcastic and slightly intellectual in my humor (think Stewie from Family Guy) and people usually don't get it, and it kills it to try to explain it.

DiamondDiva -> RE: Is humor attractive? (3/6/2005 7:52:44 PM)

Yes, I like humor but there is definetly a time and place for it.

I find it humorous to use a yardstick to be... um... what was the question?

Wait wait... I remember. Uh, I concur.
