caitlyn,

I think you and I have a different taste. Nothing wrong with that. Now this American band is quality. I've seen these at Manchester Academy and they're as good as anything I've seen live.

I'll be honest here........when it comes to music and films most American stuff is shite but when you get it right nothing can touch it.

Yes ... they're big hear. I think they are touring the south later this year. I will probably let some hopful, buy me a ticket.

You know they will be touring with Queens of the Stoneage, right? I think you trashed them earlier.

I'm with you, when a band is good, it doesn't matter what genre they are. I can find someone I like from almost any era. I even like some rap.

It's totally understandable and completely cultural. You guys over there have softened ... you know, all civilized and 'nice' now. Over here, we're just kiddos ... rough, aggresive and still a little bit evil. Why try to hide it.

It's why you don't understand us, and probably generally can't stand us. That's actually OK, as long as you fear us ... and trust me, we know you do.

You're Oasis, and we're Godsmack. It just is, what it is.

P.S. Try to pretend I meant that to be funny.

It's just the macho thing with Queens of the Stone Age. I liked "Another Love Song" but it's few and far between.

Kings of Leon are pretty much as good as it gets.......as I say, when you get it right it's spot on.....but then we get the rest of the bollocks.

What's with the "hopefuls"? why aren't you going out with a bloke you like i.e equals not hopefuls?

I'm enjoying relationship immaturity.

Try this one: I'm not sure this isn't a UK band. Maybe you know.

Bollocks.

A) What are you doing on this board?

B) What was the 50 boyfriends comment?

You know, a friend sent me the link to this website a long time ago, and I find I enjoy the message board. That about covers it ... I'm not going to be anyone's submissive or whatever. I'm one of those sensation players that's wasting all the real lifestyler's time. At least I'm honest about it.

I like being a serial girlfriend. It's easy, and you can dump someone as soon as they try to get too close ... which is a total power trip for people lacking confidence.

Now, this is the best hair band out there ... and from your casa. ( I think we may be jacking LA's thread)

Who's lacking confidence?

By the way, I didn't know it was your music, Pierre.

It's not all the music I like. A lot of my current taste I get through my daughter and I still go to rock concerts. This last year I've seen the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Franz Ferdinand, The Keizer Chiefs, Placebo (twice), Keane(yuck), UB40, Tears For Fears, Ike Turner, Morrisey, Paul Weller, Nelli Furtado (nice arse, little else), Infadels, The Rakes, The Dresdon Dolls, Editors, The Flaming Lips and a host of music acts I've come to like while living on the continent. There is a load of superb acts that never get exposure in the Anglophone world and no doubt like Jacques Brel and Edith Piaff, there are acts that will only be appreciated in the Anglophone world after they are dead.

Yeah, I remember you mentioning Morissey and saying you weren't impressed. Fair enough. Did you know he's being lined up to pen Britain's Eurovision song contest entry.......strange world eh.

I remember listening to your Jacques Brel link - the Amsterdam one. It was impressive and worth a listen.

Nellie Furtado - isn't that the fly like a bird shit - that is shocking and should be classified as a crime against humanity.

You're wrong about us not getting much foreign music here - get yourself down to any record shop and you'll see shedloads of Latin American music. The problem with contintental European music is not that we're unwilling to try it - they just don't appeal to our cultural taste. We're not as insular as some would have you believe, if it's decent (defined by our cultural taste) we'll have a crack at it.

I've seen Editors and Paul Weller a few times and money well spent. There's a decent Canadian band around - Arcade Fire - if you get a chance have a listen.
