Roses are red
Violets are Blue
Some poems rhyme
And some don't

I read the above with heart on the floor trodden into the ground
Why God did you make me this way unable to communicate in the medium of poetry
Unable to express my inner soul and stuff.
Why give me a brain that forces me to write things down like a set of instructions?
You are no God of mine I say noooooooo, I spitith upon thy
But the spitith falls back down upon my face
You curse me again with gravity, no God of mine
I shake my fist to no avail to the faceless no God of mine up high in the sky.

I'll jump in and test the waters.

I am a leaf on a tree wondering what will become of me
The sun and rain nurture me into maturity
Green and full of life I have a roll a job to do

At the peak of my life providing sustenance to those that sustained me
It will not last forever for Autumn is upon me like fear
My family will reject and eject me as my ability to work fails me

The sun that once nurtured me turns its back on me
Makes my skin brown and crispy
I fall from the branch that was once my home up high

Now I am at your feet all dried up my destiny fulfilled
I’m more attractive now than I’ve ever been all red and brown
Will I end up in a scrap book or compost heap?

Only you know.

I’m getting really good at this poetry crap now it’s addictive.

Replacing Everything

Love and vodka are all
I need to keep my mind
racing.

And the energy flowing
as I reach out yearning
for the one I'm loving.

And her lips I'm drinking
while my soul is searching
for a timely ending.

Motion

Daydreaming, watching the clock
As minutes dissolve to hours since the
Rapid acceleration of my heart dominated
Lingering feelings of uncertainty,
Increasing anticipation and longing in
Not knowing where you lead, but knowing I
Go with you.

Jingle Jangle the Santa Tangle

Rooftop to rooftop the reindeer leaped
Santa merrily happily bringing surprises
Upon little Mandy's and Breezie's they landed
Two sweet girls, an easy job, Santa surmises.

But Jack Frost had been busy that night
The chimney was coated with ice out and in
Santa slid down faster than he expected
And bounced across the room into the den

He bounced into the tree that came tumbling down
The lights falling around him in a tangle
He tried to get up but found he was bound
As the ornaments all went jingle jangle

Mandy and Breezie heard the tremendous crash
Leaping from their beds they ran to see
Stopping in their tracks they began to giggle
As Santa had the star stuck to his knee

The good little girls helped untie the knot
And Mandy helped Santa to his feet
Breezie handed him his magical bag
And then they both showed him the cookie treat

Santa sat and laughed waking the house
Dad and mom ran to see the clatter
The stopped fast in their tracks
They listened to the happy Christmas chatter

Peeking around a corner they were dumbstruck
To see their girls and Santa together
Slowly they came into the den to join
And they all smiled at each other

Soon Santa had to be on his way
He thanked the girls and gave them each a gift
He went to the Chimney and smiled and waved
A finger to his nose and up he went swift

Then the clatter of hoofs upon the roof
And the family looked out the window pane
Santa waved and smiled and shouted with glee
"Merry Christmas to All Once again"

Between the Lines

I sprawl on my bed with a book and
try to read at night so that when you
call I am intellectually busy.
I reread pages I have not followed while
working out what magic I have lost
in the ten days you have not called.
I read between the gaps of
self-doubt and self-righteousness,
convincing no one the illumination
of 11:00 on my ceiling is not a deciding
factor in the ringing of a phone.
I turn pages while the tension in
my torso advances with the time that
takes away the possibility of you.
At 1:00 I am lost between the pages
of what I thought we were and
the sinking feeling of losing something
special.

Where does the truth lie
Somewhere between what he said she said
Whose truth is closer still
Whose truth is skewed by the lies of others

Is it truly a lie
When what you speak you believe is true
Even if what you speak
Is someone else's lie that you believe

And how do you know
What you truly can believe
When any truth can be
A twisted half-truth made in anger

All you have to do
Is be true to yourself and those you love
All you can do
Is live your honor and integrity..

You Live On In Your Boy

With his hand resting in his mother’s
The child lifted his weary eyes.
Mother why did Father leave us
As the earth falls to where he lies.

Tears in her eyes she looks down
From her mind the words want to fly
She holds on to her troubles son’s hand
She kneels beside him wiping his eye

Little man, Daddy did not leave us
Within your heart he shall ever be
To say god called him home is not true
For in our dreams he lives eternally.

Daddy’s time here is not yet done
Some day your own child will be born
And on that lovely wonderful day
Daddy’s eyes will see a new morn

Daddy may walk with the angels
But his words of love are here
Within your heart and in your soul
And he will always be near

The little boy looked up at her
His fingers wiping away the falling tears
Mommy it is truly okay
Daddy will protect us from our fears

His hands rest now on your shoulders
They give you strength to get through
And we will have a wonderful life
In our hearts he is always new

Mommy you are right Daddy did not leave
He is now with you and me
His love is still beating within us
Thank you mother, now I see

He lifted his eyes to heaven
And these words he spoke to his Dad
Be safe on your journey my father
And know I am no longer Mad.

I love you Daddy of mine
I wish you happiness and joy
And know my Father Dear
You live on in your boy.

I may be a Master in all I do,
You have surrendered your liberty,
Yet sweet slave kneeling at my feet,
You need to know the more of me.

I grant to you the privilege of few
Within your hands is a mighty power
With a single word or a single deed
You can topple a mighty tower.

Within you hands you hold my heart
I have not given it all to one slave before
But in your eyes I see all I desire
And therefore it is you I adore.

You are the greatest of my treasures
You are the one I want to share my life
You are the guardian of my soul
You are the only slave I would take to wife.

So careful how you clasp your hands.
Careful of the words from your heart.
For in my world of mighty dreams
I know we will never be apart.

Thank you my slave for coming to me
Thank you for kneeling at my feet
Thank you for begging my collar upon your neck
Thank you for being my lovely sweet.
