I'm a huge fan of Christina and Samuel, and will probly make a trip to the theater for this (a rarity). But from the trailer, I fail to see anything approaching any sort of BDSM dynamic. This is a crazy do-gooder, whether religious based entirely or merely philanthropically. He kidnaps a woman, and chains her up. To make her in the image he believes is right. She didn't ask him to and she doesn't want to be there. I would expect there to be a consent phase, in order for me to see such a dynamic. There was a Madonna movie some 5 yrs ago, that seemed more into a M/s dynamic, where consent was tenuously granted. But this movie ain't it.

We can project what ever we want to on it and I for one am hoping it's hot. I know the movie you are refrering to. The hottest thing about it was that she was forced to call him master. Seriously.....that was the hottest thing.

drawn, you are correct. We can and do interpret art subjectively. I would like to say that I hope the masses don't walk away from this movie thinking 'that's what those bdsm freaks are into'. Part of it, the raising of a person into a more grown person is true, it's the nonconsensual. I know I know, idiots will always believe things, it's easier than trying to educate themselves.

Okay, did anyone else notice in the trailer that the title was printed in column form? Black Snake Moan Good subliminal! Yeah - kinda looks like an average day at Merc & beth's; especially in the summer when my tan is really working for me!

I didn't really see the D/s in it..but I am a fan of independent movies, so I will probably watch it. It's nice to see something different with so many cookie cutter movies out there. This is the kind I will pay $10 see. His Kasha

Definately a hot fantasy, but in reality that's not BDSM that's kidnapping and brain washing. LOL The chaind does indeed get me going, but only if it was consensual initially. suzanne

I have to say that I agree that it really has jack to do with s/m. Or BDSM as a whole. Although I as well love SLJ and Ricci. Looks like a great and interesting indie film, one that might be worth going to the theatre for. But .....ehhhhhh....yeah, the closest thing I can see is the link to the fantasies that many have spelled out and thought about for many a year. Take away the religious context and leave it to the bare bones of a dominant breaking his very rambunctious and foul-mouthed, bossy ass of a wife/girlfriend after chaining her up, etc. Not a new topic imho, but for the mainstream nillas....yeah, a bit out there. But linked at all to what WIITWD....I see no real, reasonable and honest link. I see religious fanatisism and twisted views on helping.
