Having gotten frustrated with the same sort of mess myself, I hvae devised a simple solution to the problem of carrying the longer implements. I have a large canvas drop cloth on whid I lay the floggers, canes etc out parallel. Fold over the ends hen roll it up and then tie it up with a series of marling hitches. I tkes a neat and compact little bunlde of what used to take up scads of space. When it comes time to play, untie, unroll and your toys are all laid out, and ready to use. That in turn goes into a long duffle bag, and the other implements go along side it in smaller bags of thier own. I suppose if you were less handy with rope handier with a needle and thread than I am you could do much the same by swetin on a few straps to the outside of the drop cloth, but I am fond of rope, so like this solution for me.
