What was the reason for the C -section?  Usually these docs give you every possible chance to deliver vaginally.  But sometimes ob-gyns will automatically put you in the C-section pile even before giving you a chance, if you are a small woman.
Im quite petite,  but they gave me every possible chance to have a vaginal birth.   After I finally dilated, I pushed for about an hour but wasnt making any progress.  My baby's head would not fit through my pelvic area.  They called it "cephlometric disproportion"...which basically means that my frame was not large enough for the baby's head to fit through.
If your first one was a section due to this reason, your second one will probably be a section too.  I kinda will always wonder what it would have been like to deliver vaginally.  .
Talk to your doc about it and see what he/she says about your odds of having a vaginal birth.  But the most important thing is just getting that baby out of your body in the best possible way for the both of you.  Plus the pain meds you get after the surgery are almost enough to make it worth it.

marie actually CPD is a catch all term andit is how the cover their asses   it is actually sayign that the force and the position of THIS labor isnt going to go through the pelvis at THIS time.... any changes in the labor process can change it...as little as a few years later can change the position of the pelvis..the muscle tone of the pelvic floor the strendth of the contractions and the position or the shape or the size of the head  are all variables...

I actualy gave birth to a child whose head was more than 3cm larger than eth 1st the second time around...the first one was delivered via c section without even having a chance to get all the way dialated the hubby was told that baby was too large for me.... i went on to deliver my 2nd  my frist vaginal  with 2 pushes after 24 hours of labor  but only 2 hours at the hospital  both of which were spent arguing with the covering doctor that i wasnt having an elective surgeical procedure...of course i also informed him he wasnt cutting any part of my body or i could have imagine the episiotomy he would have done!  turned out i didnt need one...but that is another subject

Went to register at the hospital today and i am SO DISAPPOINTED.  They dont do VBACS.  They cited lawyers and risks and what not.  Which totally absolutetly sucks.  My mother of course is pleased, which pisses me off even more.

Master is helpful in suggesting i find a different hospital.  Except most of the other hosptials are at least an hour away and i dont really want to be going into labor and then needing to drive an hour.  Especially with the possiblity of a ruptured uterus.  Low risk, but still.  The idea of being stuck in traffic, in labor, and the possiblity of my uterus rupturing doesnt seem like fun.

Master also suggested i move in before it becomes that time (putting me closer to his hospitals) but moving just seems like a big pain in my butt.  i'm frustrated.

in regard to the uterne rupture scare tactic...if you do a little bot of research...you will find out that it is more dangerous for a uterus to rupture in a woman that didnt have a section  ther is no weak spot and it would be catstrophic....if a uterus ruptures it usually happens  prior to delievery and well just do a bit of reseach and you will feel much better...that was one of the scare tactics that was thrown at me when i changed doctors frombaby number one to baby number 2....my feelign was im ot walking into an or again unless the doctors wife was goignto come to my house and take care of me and the 2 kids!....not a likely thing

I don't have personal experience, but it's your body and your birth. I've witnessed part of a home birth and it was really neat. Have it the way you want it, it can be a very beautiful experience!
