I know! Much like the proliferation of male submissives who contact my Master asking if he will "do" their wives...but that they just want to meet him first - to see if he's worthwhile of course.

Yes. Its a big issue in the UK - but what can be done about it? Nothing much - much as in real life we shouldnt form an impression of someone simply on the basis of what they'd like us to think about them.

Were CM a paid site, then it wouldnt be too difficult in most cases to assign sex on the basis of the payers' credit card names and titles (eg Mr John Smith would have a problem registering as a female!), but then there are also members from diverse worldwide cultures here, and I for one wouldnt necessarily know from a Thai name for instance, whether that person was male or female.

As it is, CM is a free site (and long may it continue, though it would be well worth the money if that ever changed), and as such, caveat emptor and caveat vendor apply, in dealing with members. I've been here about six months now, and in that time there are quite a few people who to me at least, have shown themselves to be genuine and trustworthy, and the sort of people I'd like as real life friends. Many more who seem genuine to me, though I dont feel I know them well enough yet to say more than that. Very few I get negative vibes from, but thats just because of something or some way they post, and they could well be great people in real life.

What youre offering, 24/7 slavery, is one of those instances where you really do have to be sure of whom youre dealing with IMO. Projecting your own hopes onto a screen name and profile is just never going to work, even if they are genuine, and where they are bogus youre just going to get problems. From the other side, the bogus players, fakes and wannabes are going to do what, do you think, when you contact them? Theyre here for a laugh or else to live out their own fantasy online - so theyll play along with you; beware then, having your own words and ideas replayed to you. Trust me, real women have their own words and ideas!

its not just on the internet.... as BDSM has become mainstream chic, I see more and more lamers at local clubs and social groups.  The shelf life of a available female of any orientation is now about 30 nanoseconds due to all of the influx of "interested wannabees"

Yes, there are a lot of real fakes on these sites and many called fakes because they did not want the person calling them a fake, including some of the pay ones. You can learn to read profiles with a concerning eye and not mass marketing of wishful thinking or you can become bitter, negative and take out frustration in ill advised places and give up.

Repeat the mantra “must not get upset or surprised by anything I see in cyber land”

well said sarcasm albeit true.
which makes all the resistance from members (mostly the ladies and subs) about showing themselves on webcam all the more unbelievable. just a quick look and that's really all one should need, Yet i continue to get arguement and intractibility. Ironically they are usually the very ones who demand respect and babble most about trust, and will tell you in no uncertain terms their trust must be earned along with their respect. One wonders how not simply proving your identity early on could possibly be seen as anything but disrespect, and indifference toward attaining the other persons  trust they usually demand for themselves, sight unseen. It's patently ridiculous.

The "why" is the real lunacy part, as they either dont want to be bothered, fear ever needing to "gussy up" at all just to chat online, or as one told me to my amazement, she feared being caught at a weak moment and doing something she'd regret.(undress?) I was, and remain dumbfounded.

Same old sad complaint about the internet, that we have all heard a million times. As for reality, the personal touch wins every time.
 
I can't make a judgement on anyone, except those I have been contacted by. Only about 10 % of the males who have contacted me have followed thru with chat and calls. Of the other 90%, around 50% have emailed, contacted me on yahoo, and then vanished. About 30% contact me here and that is the last contact. The last 20% don't even bother to read my profile, which is obvious from their emails, which I delete.
 
I have finished my math lesson and vented my 2 cents worth, as well. I will say, I have made some good friends and met some wonderful boys on CollarMe, including my current slave. So something good does come out of all the other stuff you have to wade through.

I once was a female Dominant.  I wanted to be a male Dominant, but I laughed too hard...and I hadn't actually even dialed the chics number yet.

Had I been smart, I'd have stayed home and read all the Victoria's Secret Brochures and asked the OBVIOUS question; "Is this all for MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?"
