hi there, just a quick technical question...

Master often reads these boards as a guest, he hardly ever logs on to the site itself with a username etc. He has trouble acessing the forum topics a lot of the time, they half load then stop.

Here is some additional information:
1. We use two different computers connected to the same network.
2. I acesss the topics fine most of the time
3. his machine is actually more powerful than mine.
4. Sometimes when he opens this site about 100 windows start popping up randomly (that never happens to me).
5. We run all the same programs.

Any suggestions as to what may be happening...?

thanks

To have full access to the site, its best to be become a member and stop being a guest.
Consider the fallowing features on your computer:

Turn on “Fire Wall”,
Turn off “Cookies” acceptance,
Turn off “Pop Ups”
Get the latest anti virus patch
Consider switching antivirus,  ie: "AVG" and run it daily.
Get "Ad aware" run it weekly

The last thing to consider is this, the more people there are on “Collar Me” and on the internet, the slower information travels.
Think of it like a Highway…with more cars on the highway, the more congested it gets.

I often have problems getting a page to load completely.  It is frustrating.  I exit out of the tab and start over again.  I've also noticed that the profiles are viewed best with IE.  My (former) profile looked good on IE, but had weird spacing when viwed with mozilla.  I don't know how to fix that.

He also probably needs a spyware-type cleaner.  When this site starts acting up, I run mine, and everything quiets down.  Also, empty out the temporary internet files and cookies.  They can take up a lot of space when they accumulate over time.

Ron's right, it sounds like he has a virus (or spyware, adware, or something of that nature.)  Download bitdefender Free, and run a scan.

Katy,

I have the same problem.  It isn't firefox per se, but rather to do with the way the page is coded.

People who design more complicated websites usually write two (or more) versions of the same webpage, because different resolutions and browsers will cause a webpage to look very different.  Try looking at the CM homepage when your resolution is set to 640 x 480, then set the resolution at 1280 x 1024 and you'll see how different it looks.

Stephan
