When I was young I played sports. Streetfighting, boxing, slapboxing, wrestling, fighting dogs. Many other activities.
Should've done something else, as I am completely turned off by the whole thing now. Assholes make millions of dollars and get busted for drugs, rape or gross sexual imposition. Why do we (they) idolize people who play. It is one thing to recognize someone's talents and abilities, even if it is mainly physical prowess. They worked for it, I know. Now mind you I have nothing against drugs, just why are they stooooopid enough to get busted ? Even the rape and GSI, I can see where some golddiggers want some money, but some of it is true. And why didn't they just pay the bitch off ? You got more money than you can ever spend, but of course you are going to prove me wrong, but RIGHT NOW you got more money than you can ever spend. Pay the bitch off. Perhaps you did do bad, you hurt her and pissed her off. Make her less unhappy with money and get back to the pipe or the joint, the new squeeze.
I sparred and worked out with a guy I might as well refer to as a moose. That was the size of him, but he was sneaky as a snake and fast as a cat when it came to fighting. At times I got a bit discouraged and he told me "Don't sweat it, you are going to lose here, I got you by about 2 inches on reach, I am bigger overall and outweigh you by 60 lbs.".
Sure as shit, nobody else was a problem. That was back in the day too, I still had my greed and ambition. I actually encouraged this guy to seek out a carreer in pro sports. He told me "I ain't shit". That means we all ain't shit ? Pretty much.
Thing is alot of these pro athletes are making mega bucks on a half a brain. That is what turned me off to it. That is part of the reason I turned the TV off. Everybody on the TV is paid to look good. Look good and know how to read. Look good and know how to play. Look good and know how to cry on demand.
It all makes me sick. We have money for stadiums but not schools. Of course the schools are crap, so just tear them all down and put up more stadiums. Let the kids watch games all day and I bet they will be better behaved. You can't instill a hunger for knowledge in kids, that is the Parents' job. IMO, the soccer Mom is not a good Mom.
No, you don't have to make a 10 year old read Tolstoy, in fact I haven't. But you do have to make a 5 year old read something. Yes, go outside with a ball and a stick, by all means, but also take them inside with a book and a pencil and paper.
People need heroes so badly for some reason. Perhaps they are not able to idolize their Parents for some reason. Perhaps they lack self esteem for some reason.
When the quantity of life on this planet increases, it seems the quality of life decreases. The masses then focus on certain groups.
So, in the past, when anarchy was no longer working leaders were found. Sometimes among the physically strong, other times among the wise. People picked leaders.
Now the "leaders" are promoted on TV, and do shoe commercials.
Fucking sickening.
