Well they are owned by the same company. I have known a few men that had ads at those places, and especially the adult friend finder site is filled with women looking for men to support them as mistresses or out and out exchanging of assets for nookie. I never saw many women on alt that looked like the ads on here, which look almost like penthouse models.

And BTW. CollarMe rocks! I absolutely do not share your opinion on that account. It is the best site out there to meet like minded people even if only for friendships. They need the advertising to allow us to be able to access this site for free, which they have paid large sums out of pocket for the servers so you can use their forums and chatrooms. It might be more gracious to be appreciative of the effort, time, and money that went into creating this place that you are completely dogging on. Unless you have put out more for the purpose of creating a community of some sort, it really does not reflect well on you not to show even an ounce of appreciation

CM, I completely appreciate you being here! My earlier comments hopefully did not come off as unappreciative, just reflective.

When I am using the main page - which I do frequently - I simply resize it so all the adverts fall off the right-hand side of the page.  Problem sorted...

agreed discipiner.Its a no brainer that they're all models. I've gone to the site and tried to contact a few of them and of course not a one writes back.
Currently I'm chatting witha woman a little younger than me who never uses my name and never answers my questions. that's commonly called a "BOT"

I think we should just ship everyone off to France.  I was over there a few years ago and my father showed me the red light district.  Most of those women are NEKKID!!  Good looooord.. nekkid prostitues walking around on the street.  I even saw their punani's!!  lol

Funny. Until this post, I never paid any attention to the advertising. Will admit to noticing it the first time I logged on, but was pics of women, which are not my first preference. So tend to just tune them out of my line of vision.
 
Would be nice if they had sponsors like JT's Stockroom or similar businesses. Those would be the ads I would read and would be more likely to visit.

I cancelled my account at the amature site and then got 3 emails SUPPOSEDLY from women wanting sex but to chat with them I'd have to upgrade to send a letter abck. ALL the letters were BOTS and NONE near where I live. The site is a SCAM.

Using the Firefox browser helps, you right click on an image and choose Block Images From...

You never see the pictures again.

I've used Firefox and it just messed up my PC. Opra isn't much better but I REFUSE to use MSN. Its too prone to viruses. I'm also still getting emails from Amature and they're still digging up woman who all of a sudden want to chat with me.Once they get you. They REFUSe to let go.typical phonies.

In Life there's NO SUCH THING as FREE. you either live with someone paying for it by other adds or you pay for it yourself. Take your pick. I prefer the former rather than the latter.

ALt has its good points and bad. Every site does. I haven't found the "PERFECT" site yet. I really doubt if it exists. i've been on plenty that have the same fetishes as mine but nothing comes of meeting anyone. You have to take the good with the bad.

My biggest concern is that in the long run they will attract people who are more interested in seeing such pictures, and less interested in BDSM. Coupled with the fact that we are not allowed to post any bondage (or any one of a number of other lifestyle activities) concerns me in that the nude pictures may very well be the first step in changing the demographic we have all appreciated about CM up until this point.

A few years ago when i was looking for a Dominant before Master found me, i interacted alot on CollarMe. The profiles i read and everyone that contacted me seemed to have lifestyle interests and most had experience. Before the nude pictures began i had noticed an increase of what i consider vanilla profiles (those that do not mention any lifestyle passions, and seem to be looking more for a date or love relationship).

They don't.  However, they do dictate what time of day I read my email.  As this is NOT a pornograpiic website, I do feel that if I have 20min in the middle of the day to sit at my computer and do anything, I would like to be able to come here and read my email.  Obviously this is not an option right now and I make adjustments.  Because I currently make adjustments, does this mean I should pretend to be happy with the status quo?? Do I begrudge them trying to keep their site up and running with minimum cost to themselves and their users?  No  I will say again...I am greatful for this fact, and I ask again...Is this necessary?  I will not pretend to know anything about web developement or what it takes to keep one running sucessfully with little to no cost, but I will ask if using pornagraphic advertising pop ups on the side of my email window is necesssary.  Maybe it is...I dought it, but I have been wrong before. 

Taking what is given to you should always be met with gratitude...however that does not mean it should be taken blindly without question.  Questions are the back bone of new idea,  inspire improvement and make it possible.

I do not know the cost of running the site either, but I imagine with hundreds of thousands of members, the cost is staggering...care to start paying a monthly fee not to have to look at the ads?
