i wrote this awhile back and just ran across it again...
Security
I feel the blanket
of security
wrap around me
when i am with You.
my fears and troubles
evaporate as if nonexistent.
i shed the parts
of myself that protect me
so quickly
that i hardly feel it happen.
i begin to see
the beauty that you see
i begin to feel beautiful.
With each passing hour,
as each day ebbs into the next,
i feel myself truly being myself.
i don't have to don
that artificial smile
for everyone else's benefit.
The smile on my face
is as true as they come.
You let me be me,
in all my childishness,
my womanhood,
my submissiveness.
You, rather than make me want
to hide who i am..
make me want to dance,
sing, smile, and shine.
You help me to swerve
around my barriers
and climb over my walls.
You urge me to.
encourage me to
command me to be
proud of who i am.
You give me the courage and strength
to make it through each day.
