KnightofMists -> Interactive Behavior Profile (1/15/2007 5:31:28 PM)

A few years ago with the some assistance of others and some reading .. I put together the following Worksheet.

===================================================================================

The Shared Person:  These are the personality dynamics and behaviours that are known and seen by others.

The Core Self: These are personality dynamics and behaviours that are unknown and unseen by others.

Positive Connective Behaviours: These are activities and behaviours that are to be performed and demonstrated to provide positive value to the relationship.

Outer Boundary: These are behaviours you will not accept others to project at you; violations of the boundary will cause you to warn and or make the person aware that they have made you feel uncomfortable and what made you feel that way. Three violations of the outer boundary in a specific interaction with a person will cause you to remove yourself from the interaction.  This violation may or may not damage a relationship.  It is dependant on the frequency that this person violates your outer boundary.

Inner Boundary: These are behaviours you will not accept others to project at you at anytime; violations will cause you to immediately to remove yourself from the interaction.  These behaviours will cause damage to the relationship and could possibly end your desire to have a relationship with them.

TIME OUT LOCATIONS: These are the locations you will go when you have called a TIMEOUT.  A “TimeOut” is a when a person is unable to maintain positive connective behaviours with others and needs to remove themselves from interaction until they are able to do so.

Negative Release Techniques: These are activities that are self-soothing and to be preformed to reduce or eliminate anxiety, panic attacks, self-abuse, negative feelings and/or stress

==================================================================================

The worksheet is an effort to assist a person in first taking a introspective look at themselves and how this person interacts with others.   It is also an effort to discover for oneself what a person desire to protect from others.  The forum can be filled out with a specific individual in mind or it can be towards a group or type of person...

I am generally interested in what you thing of this forum and do you thing it has any value.

I think that if a person can be really open and honest with themselves, especially if they have a trusted observer go over these with them that it will be quite eye opening.

Consider it stolen and adopted!

I see it as having great value. There are two aspects to it that I find rather intriguing. It can 1) Be used as a guide post to the things that others do that upset you and cause you to feel "defensive", those things that build walls. It can also be a roadmap to lowering barriers as well, showing someone that you respect their boundaries and are a "safe" person to trust.

Getting to know yourself is always a good thing.[:)]

already do... considering... kinda stolen and adopted it and bastardized it to my way as well.  but, I can't remember where I buried the body.

twas around the corner, across the north bridge, past the woods, make a left at the swamp and buried 3 feet under a gator nest

I think its good for personal use but way too much information to be giving out to some one you dont know.

I disagree.

Totally.

Please do not look at the man behind the curtain.

And ignore what is written in the tag line.

Thank you.

It seems to be close to a contract of sorts.  It defines the self in the context of their interactions with others, establishes boundaries, etc...  i could see this as being very useful, particularly in a situation in which several people are living together.   Is that the purpose you intended?

no.. it's definitely not a contract... It is more an exercies of self-discovery as well as establishing a working relationship with others.

I find these to be the fundamentals that I've gone through, just with different names, most of the basic ones with a therapist. I also feel that any introspection activity, done properly, is an excellent thing. It does help, however, to share it with others so that our conclusions can be tested against healthy things. I'm sure Hitler thought he had lots of great introspection activities...but the results were disasterous.

Thank you Sir for giving me something to journal about. It will be interesting to me to see what thoughts come of this outline.

Your Welcome... but MasterFireMaam makes an important point...

"to share it with others so that our conclusions can be tested against healthy things."
