I'm not sure where I should post this, but with my track record, chances are the Mods will move it here before page 3 anyway.  You're welcome.

Anyway, as many of you know, I work in hospitality, if we choose to call what I do "work."

I have now decided that the time is nigh to move along my career path a bit farther from my current boss, like in Australia.

To you Aussies - Is there a good job website, in particular hospitality, for Australia?  For example, in North America, we have HCareers.com, which is geared towards our industry.

To other non-Aussies - Be cooler.  Oh, and do any of you know of a great hotel that's hiring, or just that's a good place to work?

I promise I won't pee on anyone there.*

Yours,

benji

The Balsams Resort right near me is supposed to be really great... On the other hand, I'm assuming your looking to get AWAY from snow...

http://www.thebalsams.com

There's also the Mount Washington Hotel. Also, lots of snow. But they are both hiring.

I should point out, what I'm looking for is middle-upper management, Food and Beverage or Conference Services.

Yours,

benji

PS:  Thanks!  It actually looks like a really cool place!

I would reccomend the Fairmont chain. They're usually looking to bring in good people, and I know for a fact the Fairmont Banff Springs (gorgeous hotel) goes through a massive hiring blitz for the summer.. starts in march/april. They're a pretty good company, and the rockies are amazing. Plus after.. ummm 18 months (???) you can transfer to any fairmont hotel in the world... so thats fun.

Hi Benji

I'm not sure from you wrote, whether youre hellbent on getting into Australia...and I dont know how it all applies to you lot over there.... but for a Brit to get into Australia, its an f'in nightmare! (unless youre a tourist, or a cricket team with a penchant for masochism).

Have you thought about the UK? Lots of big hotel chains here. Ideally, you could come and work in The Ordnance in Felixstowe, where I occasionally stay (3-5 nights a month, for work), and get the place to offer such things as hot water!?

Well, essentially, last time I was down there I was told that a Visa was not a problem, provided you were in a position which earns over a certain mark (Which I am over)  This isn't an official policy, but essentially an agreement hotels have with the government to ensure that they can bring in foreign knowledge, but not "cheap labour."

As to hot water, that seems a bit extravagent for the UK, does it not?

Yours,

benji
