Well, kind've new. I started out reading Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series (Kushiel's Dart, Kushiel's Chosen, Kushiel's Avatar) and realised I was masochistic. Sorry to hear of your bad experiences, Wyld. The people here are rather less unbalanced, but seek out your fellow subs and get some advice on whom to trust. They've been there, done that and washed the T-shirt, and their experience and counsel could save you a lot of undeserved pain. Be happy, be careful, The Bard.
