Hey lovely, just wanted to thank you for the banter in the lube/no lube thread and move our discussion here (if you're willing). See, I think it's a good thread to start, because in a way it dovetails with the "nilla vs bdsm only' threads, the 'stuff outside of kink that keep the kink hot and going' threads, and also, always good for people to know how really hard it is to make those clips or vids or disks they watch.
Though if it's an impostion, no need to reply, I'll understand.
So... for others (and maybe you'll chime in):
everyone hears about how much $ they can make being naughty on the web. niche genres are generally more profitable than broad genres.
i.e., if you make a film, even a nilla film, dealing with a specific genre with a core audience (such as say zombies or high school wrestling),
at 25 min running time and the gross production cost is $20k, and you have enough customers that buy enough to net you over $40k, guess what?
You did better than 80% of HOLLWOOD movies, no matter what they spin doctor to make you think.
Now when you mix this with specific sexual tastes, things go "up".
problem is, the legal problems and paperwork go up as exponentially as the potential profit does.
This was not the case as much in the days of VHS only (when pirating was a bitch), because if you did all the work and never broke any laws, people had to buy from you to get what you offered.
But now, it's all different, and I don;t mean limiyed to Napster or e-mule etc.
Ever think about that when you decide you're a fan of an erotic/kink star? NHow much more they now have to go through to get possibly 50% less (or worse) of what they'd make in the old days if you did not have the ability to load up clips of their work on a yahoo group?
Ever wonder about this when you think, "damn, I could make such a hot kinksex clip, I'll just do that and sell it!"?
who knows?
Maybe this thread will entertain, maybe it'll fall on it's face like some h-wood "wannabe blockbusters", but I'll wait to see if whispered likes it and answers...
