Is it true that most submissives seek a reality outside themselves because of some pshychological problem?

It's true that many people enter into a sub-culture because they do not fit in, feel welcomed or know how to work within the mainstream culture.

It's true that many people are attracted to bdsm as an escape to the issues they feel they were unable to deal with effectively in vanilla culture. It's true that many people are able to use bdsm as a way to work through issues they have, often returning to vanilla culture once they feel they have gotten what they needed.

Whether MOST submissives get into bdsm due to issues they've got going on is debatable, but there's something to be said for it.

As I just posted on another thread, motivations are personal. Some search for a way to exorcise their demons. Some search for a way to become more enlightened. Some just like it kinky.

I get something out of devoting myself to a Woman a sense of peace. I feel good being dominated by a sadistic Woman it feels right to me.
I am afraid if I ever delved too deep into why I enjoy suffering for and obeying this type of Woman I may lose something.
I like the mystery. Could be a lot of things low self esteem, a very strong mother or Emma peel on the avengers tv series when I was a kid.
